I would go out and pick up buffalo chips to heat with before I would deal with amerigas again. In over 4 years I never had 1 single correct bill. They took many many months to correct-- calling managers and anyone that would listen. Find a different supplier, the delivery staff were great but the rest are idiots! Add comment

I pay my propane bill every month. It usually ranges from 50$ to 60$ a month. Last month I received a bill for 6,745.28. I called and was told they were under estimating my bill. I have called numerous times asked to change address to receive bills, still sending it to the old address. Have a verbal agreement on payment every 19th of month now receiving debt collection mail. After several incidents of abject incompetence by Amerigas personnel, (allowing our tank to go empty in the middle of winter, while we were supposedly on an "autofill" contract, and then leaving a valve open that allowed 200 gallons of propane to escape into the air), we began looking at alternative suppliers. Amerigas from Valley Forge, PA bought out many smaller propane companies around the country a few years ago and ever since, their customer service is terrible and they continue to overbill customers for propane and nickle and dime you to death for things like tank rental fees, etc... So I bought my house in 2011 and the tanks were left from previous owner. They only were used for the stove. I'am retired and every year I'am told I have to pay an Enrollment Fee. I can see charging a one time Enrollment Fee for a new customer, but not a customer who has been with them for years. How does this benefit us? I am also a very unhappy customer w/the garner office. . . Amerigas does not answer calls. When you do get them the just promise to call back. Ive gone inside their office twice now trying to get them to come fill the tank at the house that I rent. Each time they say they will call me with a time. I dont own the house so I cant change the lease tank plus the cost is too high. I would like to cook and take a hot shower. It has been 3 weeks!
