First request was Feburary.( remove gas and tank)Amerigas Co. Murphy,NC.

Instead, they removed regulator, removed gas line and added a gas lock.

I then bought the property. tank is 52years old and has 114 gallons gas.I offered retail price for the gas at the time,$1.38 per and $50 for the worhless tank,(no regulator,no nothing ) Just tank and gas. They refused by no uncertain terms.

I then requested they pick up there tank and gas.I requested again, and again, and again.

Question ? How do I get this tank out of my yard?

It`s been 6 months and no results.

Thank you Irvin Hunsberger

Tanks built in the 50's (yours 1957)were great. Thick steel, heavy duty valve ports, strong legs... It might need scraped and paint, but is a better tank than any new model available. (unless it sat under water or buried in mud)It is easily worth about $500.00 That is why your offer of $50.00 was rejected. If you really want it out of your yard, tell the office that you smell gas and you are sure it is leaking...and that you are going to call the fire dept. It will be gone same day if you call early.

I used to work for the corp. call center.. Unfortunately there is no way for you to get the tank out of your yard.. some customers have been waiting over 3 years to have their tanks removed. There are 2 reasons for this.. First is that there is not enough man power to get all the tanks and they have to wait for the weather to break. It also depends on where you are on the list. Trust me I took calls from customers who called numerous times and waited YEARS. The second reason is because they are more concerned about paying customers. Seeing as I was one of the reps who would start the pick up process I do have one suggestion that might help. Call them back an dtell them you are doing some major construction/remodeling of some sort and the tank is in the way. Based on my experience there that seems to get the ball rolling a little faster. Good luck!
