amerigas 2 days ago to close my account with them, they told me that they would have to send a truck out to pump my
tank of the fuel in it and give me a credit on it told them i owned the
tank and that i had already paid for the fuel that was in it,they said it would still cost me 150.oo to close my account,i got with a
lawyer and he said
amerigas has no rights to come on my property for any reason and that they can be charged with trespassing if they do.i also called 4 other companys and they said that if i own the
tank and already paid for the fuel in it that
amerigas has no say so in the matter anymore,i will be sending them a letter to let them know i do not need their service any longer

"I too worked for Amerigas. There alot of "fine-print", "undisclosed-fees", & "slight-of-hand" things they do to "stick-the-customer"! There should not be "ANY" 'Fine-Print', but never the less, this is how Amerigas has risen to the "BIGGEST"! Try Blossman Gas,Freeman Gas, G&B GAS, EnergyUnited,Suburban Propane,R&B Gas,SouthernStates, & the list goes on! For other customers I suggest you "SWITCH" FIRST, then tell Amerigas they have a certain amount of time to re-move thier tank or a 'Daily Storage Fee' will be imposed! If they do not remove the tank in proper amount of "your-time", then start mailing a BILL to them every week & add the price of stamp & your Labor! The Company you swich to will be happy to "pump-out" the gas you have into thier tank! You can also "call-on-the-weekend" & report the tank leaking (  ), when they get to your house, tell them to take it then! If they refuse, get rid of it yourself!!

I used to work for amerigas and the info you received was false.. if you own the tank it will show in their system.. if it doesn't then as long as you have the bill of sale you are fine. If you own the tank you are not charged the term fee or pump out fee, thats for customers who lease the tanks .
