We have a vacation home in Idaho, and have figured out if
Amerigas knows you don't live at the house
full time, they will send you a bill for
propane that wasn't put in your tank! They sent us a bill for over $1,000 indicating 392 gallons of
propane were put in the tank. Silly them, we only used our house for an 8-day period during the time they said they filled it! We've been in dispute for 9 months.
Amerigas didn't leave a fill tag on the tank and wouldn't indicate on the bill the beginning percentage on the tank or ending percentage after filling it. We've called the McCall office at least 9 times to discuss. They can't prove they filled it, we asked them to send us documentation of the fill from the truck....they sent us a HAND-WRITTEN ticket!! Go figure. If they know you have a vacation home they assume you can't track usage. The driver's apparently will fill their own personal
tanks (or friend's
tanks), and record it as filling your tank.
Amerigas in McCall, ID does not reveal or document details from tank fills. They need to be regulated and watched. Five calls to corporate office keep being re-directed to the
local office. After 9 months of asking for documentation of proof they can't give us anything. Do Not use
Amerigas!
