I have had multiple problems with Amerigas. First they charged us for a tank that we had them removed. We had to fix this issue multiple years in a row. Then they took me off of automatic delivery and placed on will call because I questioned why we were being charged 70% over the national average. I was told because the propane I was getting was bought at a different time. When I asked about chemical composition and the possibility of the chemical composition being compromised, they said they don't deal with that.

I have had a broken float for 2 years, and every time I call they tell me they have to specially order one.

My breaking point is over these "special delivery" charges. One day when I ordered propane they told me I had to stay home and then didn't deliver. When I called they said, we would never have said that. They then told me that they would deliver the next day, but I had to be home. They told me there was no one in the area, but if I paid $300 they might be able to manage an emergency delivery. Needless to say they were at my home within 30 mins. A few weeks ago we ordered propane and waited 4 days. We called to inquire about an estimate for delivery and when asked how much propane was left we explained the problem with the float and that we can smell the marcaptain in the bathroom. They said that they would send someone out. Needless to say 13 hours later at 10pm they delivered propane. No one came in and no one checked the lines. Today I get a call saying that I have an emergency charge and they will not deliver. Apparently mentioning a "smell" is to be treated like a gas leak and charged as such. When I asked if that was why I was not delivered propane when I passed the truck on my road, I was told no, it was because my driver called out sick.

The drivers are very friendly and helpful, and there is one or two people in the office that are helpful. I feel like I'm conversing with a wall with the rest. If I could figure out who owns my tank I would buy my own and choose a different company. The sad thing is that there is no regulatory agency for propane, so they get away with this constantly.

Reason of review: Problems with payment.
