WARNING Do not use Amerigas in Kamiah, Idaho!

I have used Amerigas from 1998-2008. The local provider and it's representative, Sharon Wicks is incredibly hard to deal with. Don't think calling the North Idaho office will be an improvement, they just make excuses for her! I regularly prepay for propane in August (when the price is lower) but she doesn't send a truck until October or November when the price is much higher and you recieve less gallons for the same amount. In Aug 2008, I requested they pick up their tank and in April 2009 I had to have the tank removed and set by the road. I have sent numerous letters and still, two years later the tank still sits here. Idaho County Propane and Ferrelgas are your best bet.

Im with you Patti I believe UseYourBrain has a hand in Amerigas. I also believe this person has made several comments on others complaints under other names.

Wording is the same just posted by different names. Ive just read well over a hundred complaints about Amerigas. They sound awful and they are currently in process of buying my provider.

Guess time to start looking around. :?

Amerigas is holding over $1,100.00 of our money

My husband and I used Amerigas for years recently we decided to change companies because there prices are way to high. We tried phoning the Londonderry office to find out about our $1,100.00 in credit and it took weeks to even get anyone to answer the phone. When I finally get someone to answer the phone I am told that they were learning a new computer system so they were not answering the phone for weeks mind you GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU EDIOTS. We have gone with Iving, And we have paided them $2,800.00, but they can not deliver propane because the tank belongs to Amerigas, and Irving can't even get in touch with them to settle everything up with there tank. So we have a credit with Amerigas for $1,100.00 which we can't seem to get back, and have paided $2,800.00 to Irving and they can't deliver. I guess my only option is to DIG UP THE PROPANE TANK AND DELIVER IT TO THERE LONDONDERRY OFFICE AND I AM NOT GOING TO LEAVE UTIL I HAVE MY MONEY. Stay away from them they are a bunch low life !!@#*. Does anyone know of a state or government agency I can go to for help.

Amerigas in Rockford, Michigan - Way over priced!

I have been a loyal customer for 3 years now also payed my bill on time. Got a bill for locking in at $2.89 a gallon price to lock in is $112! Are you kidding me! I called around and did my homework with other propane companies and most every other company is $50 to lock in and is a least .20 cents cheaper... i know I have the option to leave whenever I want but i feel like the suck you in the first year and gouge you after that.. If they want to keep customers around longer that a year or two they need to be compatible to other companies.. Called Amerigas after being on the phone for more than an hour and with 3 different people the best they could do was take .10 off the lock in price and still charge me $112 to lock in...!

They said someone would contact me within 3-4 business days and it has been 1 1/2 weeks.. Goes to show they don't care about returning customers and keeping our business...!!

It took 3 months to get your tank picked up because, SHOCKINGLY, propane companies are busy this time of year. Rub your two brain cells together and think really hard and maybe you can figure this out.

When it gets cold outside people need propane delivered. Propane companies are busy doing that and taking care of their worthwhile customers, not bending over backwards to take care of whiney losers who want to pitch an infantile fit about their tank not being picked up. Yes, the largest propane company out there that's been in business for over 50 years has made their fortune by ripping off poor hillbilles. Right.

Your stupidity is off the charts. Did you ever stop to think maybe it takes more than a day or two to process and send out a refund?

And that maybe that had to pick up and pump out your tank before that refund could be accurately determined? It's cool, don't stop and think, just whine and cry on the internet like a child.

Amerigas in Hendersonville, Tennessee - Girl behind counter tells me .....

This woman had the audacity to tell me I didn't have the money to buy cat food why would I spend my money on propane for my gas logs. I have never been labeled as such. This woman went on and on how she was once a police officer for the city of Charleston, SC. Wanted to talk to me about everything in her life even talked about how her husband was disabled and someone else watches over his money. (is it because she isn't trusted OR she talks to him the same way.) Switching to Blue Flame. Amerigas is a ridiculous waste of time. I ave important things to do then listen to some woman's personal problems. I would hope that they would pay closer attention to detail of the customer needs.

The customer is the business. Policies are in place that need to be followed.

Some people like them some don't. Ill treatment of cuatomers is never acceptable. I would hope that everyone wouldn't group the entire Amerigas organization into one.

Each store is ran by different individuals. Most try to give the best service with what they have.

AMERIGAS-CRUELTY

I am 65 yrs old and disabled with a limited income. My monthly payment was $144/mo before I got over $600 promised from a state agency -sent to Amerigas, not me. Amerigas called to inform they had $600 and my new payment would $144/mo. I knew she gave me the wrong new payment amount, but I would call them later, for now I would be warm. Not correct! She let me run completely out of gas on the worse day last winter. I called customer service- it was after hours and they said that I had a balance of $31 and I needed to pay it over the phone and another charge to have them come out to my house. I explained that Amerigas had a payment of over $600. They didn't have that information there and wouldn't budge. I didn't want to pay another charge-it was their fault I ran out. I FROZE all night-I could keep my body warm, but not my head. I think part of my brain froze. The next afternoon they came out to give me propane and charged me another $100 to do it.

Why invest in amerigas?

amerigas is connected with ugi. the employees with amerigas are forced to invest with ugi.. if they want the benefeit of 401k or stock purchase plan. the amerigas management does not care about the employee. they control and dictate the plans. the management operates in secret. when new policy comes in, you never know who really implements it. ceo does not even acknowledge the real people who make the company work. the lower level management acts same as upper in lock step. company constantly tries to get away with cutting corners and ends up spending more than if done correctly the first time. does that make sense? they repeat this over an over again. amerigas responds to this complaint site like a robot. same text. no soul.

take a look at your local Amerigas facility. Do you really think they care about thier image? Their employees? You? the answers are: no no NO The business is unfortunately unregulated. They can, and will charge whatever they want. They are probably the highest priced propane business out there. Why? for their stockholders. When more people wake up to realize this, they won't have any problems, no business, no employees, no stockholders. I have worked for them so I know. I was in sales and could no longer sell, as I felt sorry for anyone who would sign up with them, and get into being ripped off. They constantly want new business, but don't truley pay attention to WHY the customers are running out the back door.

Amerigas in Rochester, New Hampshire - People in general complaining, but not using their name

My complaint is the way people can drop bomb shells on big corporations or even small businesses, but they can't sign their complaint. If there are such things that happen the way people describe, and you have a legitimate complaint than by all means complain, but do it with a signature. There is alot to be said about "what's in a name" The name defines you as a person and characterizes who you are. Why be ashamed of speaking your mind, or expressing yourself? I work in customer service, and have been on the other end while a customer is screaming in your ear, or complaining about their bills, or pricing, or are just having a bad day and taking it out on me because they feel like it. Well, I am here to tell you...WE in customer service are limited to what we can do for our customers. I know I try my hardest to make my customers happy and try to end every conversation on a happy note. I am not always successful, but when I am it makes me feel good that I was able to turn a potentially explosive situation into a resolved one. I can't make everyone happy, and I can't solve every problem...but I do know that I try, and that is what the person on the other end of the phone needs to know. Please stop thinking that we customer service people don't care, because we DO put ourselves in your shoes, and THAT is how we try to solve the situation. I don't know if this complaint was worth writing, but I DO know it is worth signing. Cynthia Ferrara
