I NEVER had a problem free transaction with Amerigas. After years of "mistakes" on their part, I had enough!

I canceled my service after the phone agent tried to offer me a "bargain" rate per gallon (which happened to be almost a $1.00 more per gallon than the local competition)They told me if I canceled my account it would cost $100 and it might take 30-60 days to pick up tank. (by the way KRS 234.190 requires that the tank be removed within 48 hours (per the KY fire marshal) after reminding them of this statute, the tank was removed quickly! However they still felt it necessary to charge me to cancel the complicated service they provided. They said I would receive a refund for what was left in my tank.

Guess what they said (after 3 months) that there was 0% left in the tank (the gauge on the tank read 5% when it was disconnected)and I was not due any refund!

My advise... weight your options carefully before going with this company!

Yesterday I ran out of propane and called to get a refill. No one answered. I called again this morning and will have to pay $100 pressure test and if I want to place an expedited delivery it will be an additional $200! I called the Wayland, MI branch and they...

Why do you need to contact the local office? The people at the 1-800 number can place your order for you just fine.

Do you expect the people at the local office to give you a different answer? You're the *** who let yourself run out, and now you have to pay the $100 for the LEGALLY REQUIRED leak and pressure test.

If you want to be put ahead of other people who ordered before you, you also need to pay an additional $200. The local office isn't going to tell you any different.

Poor Customer Service by Amerigas

I called Amerigas to come do a leak test at my house because I smelled gas. I just moved into this house this past year and haven't had Amerigas out to fill the tank yet. They came out and told me the tank was empty. They said I could pay $350 to fill it at that time and I told them I wanted to wait since I don't use the gas fireplace more than a few times a year. They told me to call if I wanted them to come back and fill the tank. Two days later they came and took the tank. When I called they said it was because I didn't let them fill it when they were here, and that I didn't commit to a contract.

Amerigas Tank Refill
I have been overcharged by amerigas for the last time. They bought out Spensor brother's propane in Richmond, VA and since my rates have gone up 50%. They are a bunch of crooks. If you call to get a price per gallon at the richmond local office they can not even give...

Amerigas needs to come up with flexible payment options for those with less than perfect credit. As it stands right now, I am below 20% in my tank and currently have a balance of about $1200 from the last delivery in late December.

In order for me to get gas I will need to pay the $1200 and then pay another $1200 approx. to get a refill. How is this flexible when right now the money is not there to pay for it.

Amerigas boasts of flexible payment options, but only if your credit is spotless and it does not help those who need it the most. This is bondage.

Amerigas recently bought out the propane company. I used last year. Last year I used between 100 and 200 gallons per month. I got a delivery on 12/27/10 (365 gallons) and on 2/7/11 received 305 gallons. I question why such an increase and the answer was it's colder...

Service
Amerigas Manager

Amerigas- Biggest crooks in the world.

I ended service with Amerigas in October of 2010 because we couldn't come to terms on pricing. I was a customer for 10 years. Hadn't had a delivery of propane since July of 2010. I was always on their "smart plan" and made monthly payments. Long story short when I settled up with them in November and paid off my yearly remaining balance I was assured I was "paid in full". Shortly afterwards I was sent a bill for $50.00 for what they called an "Enrollment Coupon". I called in December and was assured by a supervisor that my balnce was indeed $0. And they would remove the charge. But they just kept billing me the $50.00. I kept calling and asking what "Enrollment Coupon" meant. I got three different answers from three different people. I even sent "Fran" an e-mail but never received a response. I kept telling them I wouldn't pay because I was told my balance was $0 on 12-6-10 by the supervisor. (I gave them her name.) They said she must have been mistaken. They finally tacked on a $35.00 late fee so I just said to heck with it. If I didn't pay I'm sure they would eventually just put me in collections. You win Amerigas. Take your $85.00 and sleep well. Absolutely no in company communications at all. Amerigas sets the rules as they go along.

If you had you would have seen that I said I already e-mailed a week ago but recieved no response.

Amerigas in Winder, Georgia - No inspection no sale of propane

why won't amerigas sell propane without an inspection? i have lived at this site in excess of 25 years without a propane incident, no leaks, fires or problems of any kind except with suppliers yet they insist on rummaging through my home and shop checking my appliances, tank, heaters, pipes and who knows what else.they sent a service truck and 2 men to do this inspection. i got the feeling they would have offered to do any "repairs" they discovered i needed, for a fee of course. i guess they are the self appointed propane police. this is one $500 sale they missed.

It's called a leak check it's required in most states and mandatory policy in most companies. It is in nfpa 58.

Anytime a company takes on a new customer, there is an interruption of service, or a new appliance installed it is required for your safety and to protect the said company from any liability. Don't get me wrong they still have a lot of problems but your or "their" safety is number one.

Are you the gentleman with the bad knee, the one that owns a bodyshop? If so, when I bring my car to your shop would you fix/replace my fender?

Or would you put it on a jig to check the frame or sell me whatever front end parts I may need? Maybe, just maybe your doing your job and watching out for the publics safety.

You should be grateful that someone cares . .

.

these service techs were there to do a job - not judge your house keeping skills! Until you see the results of the damage that is caused by a propane explosion, you will never understand the need to complete these safety checks on ALL sites

I've been a Service Tech for eleven years. I haven't heard of Tech's trying to sell what you don't need' Not at AMERIGAS anyway's. It all has to be documented, just like the inspection.

I have been in a lot of home's. "Excuse the mess." "Do you have to? I can light my own pilot's." I'm not there to judge your house cleaning, your pot plant in the corner or anything else. I'm there to make You and your family safe.

When your home blows up, you and your insurance company will be the first one's to claim, "AMERIGAS hasn't inspected my line's or appliances for twenty five year's. Must be thier fault.

I think not. Hope I don't see you on the eleven o'clock new's.

Amerigas will not refund $350!

First, took 3 weeks to get thru! On Jan 5 I prepaid for 25 gallons of propane. The tank only took 14.3 gallons, so I was due a credit of about $50. On Jan 9, Amerigas charged my account another $300. Local office cannot explain why I was charged this amount and put in for a refund. I was told it would be 7-10 days, and it is now Feb 2 and the refund hasn't even been processed! Bottom line, Amerigas took money from my bank account and won't return it. If anyone has a national phone number, please share. Cannot find it on wwebsite
