My Amerigas cost per gallon has gone from 2.98 to 4.39 in three months. I just checked the price per gallon at Landmark and found it to be 2.04, less than half what Amerigas is charging. Needles to say, I am switching companies immediately. I have falsely assumed that...

I totally agree with you. I needed propane desperatly one year and they wanted to charge me 120.00 for emergency delivery because they had to pull a truck off his regular schedual to deliver to me.

Not even an HOUR later there was an Amerigas truck going right past my house to a neighbor's.

Had to pull a truck off a regular shedual??? Course I did not buy from Amerigas and I won't in the future.

Amerigas Customer Care

Amerigas in Dahlonega, Georgia - Over charged

We got gas on 1/12/10. When I went to pay the bill on 1/15/10 the price was 4.32 a gallon. Being in shock I paid the bill, then went home and called other companies. I was quoted 1.69 and 2.09 a gallon. We rent a tank from Amerigas and pay for that also. This is outrageous. We need protection from these type of people. We have had trouble in the past with billing also. We got a refund after being double billed but it took forever and a lot of arguing with them just to get what was ours.

In response to You'reRetarded, I did lock in my rate at $3 per gallon, and guess what? That's still a far cry from the $2.15 quote I got from a different company.

Amerigas cares nothing about about customers, that's why I'm not an amerigas customer anymore. They are committing nothing short of price gauging.

I just recently purchased my propane from a new company in the Cypress, Tx area and have never been given the best customer service, like they did. Kuddos to Texas Star Propane!

I will recommend you to everyone that I know that uses propane! Thank you for making me feel important as a customer and giving the best price around!

Yeah, I got slammed with a $600 bill which means they were giving me a low ball monthly price only to fool me into continuing service.

I found a much better deal elsewhere with none of the Amerigassy bogus add-on fees.

GOT DELIVERED IN JAN 2010...$4.15 A GALLON. CALLED AROUND AND FOUND IT FOR 2.69 A GALLON.

The person who is responding to the Amerigas complaints should be barred from this site for their insults use of derogatory language. If they are representatives of Amerigas, then they are a perfect example of the character of the company.

P.S. The low prices that Amerigas customer requested are today's prices and not prices from last summer.

#104841

Had you used a little forethought and locked your price in during the summer, you wouldn't be suffering from $4 per gallon market rates.

Amerigas website and service

I've been a customer of Amerigas and it's predecessors for 28+ years. In two of the last three years I've run out of propane in the winter. They almost made it 3 out of 4 the other day but I caught it in time. To their credit when I did run out of gas they delivered the same day within a few hours. Each of the three times their computer said I was out or negative. How hard would it to deliver at 5 to 10%? This latest time the ticket said I was on my reserve, whatever that is, for almost three weeks. The website is a joke. Try to log on without the first four letters/numbers of your account number, try "contacting" via email without your entire account number. They want you to go paperless yet you have to call them to change something as simple as your email address so they can contact you when they are billing you. Who's saving money, it's yet another green joke.

The tank had a lock put on it because noone was home when the driver came to deliver. Someone needs to be home so the driver can perform the leak and pressure test that is REQUIRED BY LAW if your tank runs empty.

You were told this, yet you failed to have someone there for the test. Rather than break the law, the only choice the company has is to lock off your tank until the test can be completed. Maybe you'd rather have air in your lines and blow up your house instead? Amerigas is so terrible for worrying about your safety OMG!

You should find another company that doesn't care about laws or safety to deliver your propane! Yeah!

Cold winter in NC. Tank went empty.

Called, left message to refill. 5 days later filled, but then put a LOCK on the tank, because it was empty, just like I told them!!!! No gas for a month, phone number busy all day, then when I leave a message, no reply. Called main office number, told them to pick the *** thing up and cancel my account.

Just got another bill for the gas, plus a RENTAL fee, for having a tank with a LOCK on it!! Will get a lawyer before I pay Amerigas another penny.

Criminal service. Beware...

I've searched their website and the web for an address so I can write a letter - remember those? - of complaint.

They don't even list a mailing address! I instructed them to stop delivery for the season, and 4 weeks later they delivered to the tune of $800+ and charged my credit card.

I have not been in the habit of checking my bill, usually no more athan quick glance. I've been on auto pay for 10+ years and I agreed to a locked in relationship years ago.

This past fall I glanced a bill which struck me as much higher than normal. I had been paying 1.799 for several years. I called my contact who ahs always been very helpful and asked him why it was so high this time. He told me my contract had expired and that my new rate was 2.589.

As shocked as I was that they had not bothered to call me I was even more shocked that the lock in charge was another $109.00.When amortized out based on pervios years useage this was another 20 cents/gal,making my ER,effective rate 2.789, not including atnk rental fees! I know the cost of gas has risen but this much?? So I called around( I hate spending my time on things like this) what I found was eye opening.

no lok in fee,no tank rental fee, effective rate of 1.829 5 cents for autopay and and 7 cents for prebuy. So look around and most importantly "inspect what you expect"
