These people are nuts! They charge $60 to come and get their tanks when you switch suppliers.

THEIR tanks!

And the woman running the office now is very, very rude. She should not be working with the public.

That is thief of service. You can go to jail period. They were nice to you, they still want your business, they just don't trust you,so they want cash.

Amerigas you should go elsewhere

Used these people for almost 20 years. When my inground tank began to leak I deceided to finish my conversion to natural gas. Can't get them to properly abandon my tank or refund the $1200+ dollars credit balance.I've made numerous calls which went unanswered. Never reeived return calls on my queries. Tried their national complaint number and never heard back from them either. It is too bad a company as large as Amerigas is run so poorly. What does it take to get thier attention. I will give you one suggestion. This mat work. It takes a lawyer!

Guest

After over charging me on their Amerigaurd program as I was about to switch companies they offered me $1.69/gal price. I said I would think about it, but they came and filled my tank anyway. Now they are still billing me at the higher rate.

Guest

Check out the news about the PTI tanker accident in Indy a couple weeks ago. Yep, that amerigas.

And it is sad to say but they really do not care. FActs and truth and safety and customer service are just words to them.

Guest

Try reporting them to all the different agencys! NFPA , local Fire-Dept.

, Chamber of Commerce , & place AD in paper of 'POOR' thier service is! They get away with this stuff because "WE" let them!! Don't feel alone though!

They don't listen to thier own people as far as "SAFETY" goes! You'll hear about thier "POOR-SERVICE" soon in the "Obituaries" when someone gets killed because they are "SO-BIG" they don't care!!!

I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER OF THIS COMPANY FOR 50 years !I missed ONE monthly payment and was bumped from preferred customer at 2.30 cents a pound to over 4.00 per pound. All for one missed payment !

I called the supervisor to thank her for the 53 pound deliver of propane that they will never, ever receive. I will now transfer to Reniah tankless water heater for a fraction of the cost with better performance and let them try to get the remaining 600 dollars I owe them !

They will never, ever, get that money ! So stick that in your fusebox amerigasp !

taking care of my mothers long time account. she has just died and the 2 tanks have 37% each in them, called a.g.

and the girl calculated the refund, minus a $125 restocking fee. i had no problem , they came and got the tanks and said they would send a check out.

that was 4 months ago, they will not return calls (6) and now i have to get my lawer involved. pretty scummy to a old lady that has passed ( never missed a payment in 15 years) they are hopeing i will just forget about it.

Just looking at this site for the first time. I too have Amerigas which was some other company when I first bought my cottage on Cape Cod.

I also have been disappointed with the increased cost and de-personalization of the customer service. I don't have time to read all the comments but I would like to address the one I read from ,I believe he or she signed themselves STU PID. Stu Pid appears to have the qualities of the banker in "It's a Great Life" . HIs self righteous attitude blew me away.

He must pay ALL his bills on time, priding himself in doing so and having no sympathy for anyone who can't remember to.

I am sure he also uses a pocket protecter so as not to soil his shirts. I'm not unemployed and I have missed a few bill paying deadlines, like when I've gone away and wasn't around to send the payment in. Plus the big companies count on people slipping up so they can add that overdraft charge or late fee. Some banks change the cycle date if you pay on time.

It happened to me because I always paid my card off. They shortened it by five days and then tried to charge me a late fee.

Hope his investment in a new efficient heating system pays off. I think there is another propane dealer down the cape called Robi if they haven't been bought out yet.

Guest

50 years you have been a customer, and because of you missed a payment you are not just changing propane companies but re-doing your entire home for a tankless water heater? Really? You can't even afford to your monthly payments but now you are going to pay thousands of dollars to get a tankless water heater installed?

Do you expect ANYONE to believe you or that you missed just one payment or is it more realistic that you are a *** deadbeat that with way too much free time on your hands? Get a job and pay your bills and you don't have to worry about the price they are charging you.

As for you Competition, you were in the meeting when they discussed underfilling tanks intentionally? you and this *** from Cape Cod should move in together and share whoa is me stories. It is obvious that you do not have a job since you are here at all hours of the night. See the times he is posting everyone. Someone with a job is not up at 1:53AM or 12:15AM.

Maybe if you had a job you would be less bitter about decent people trying to make a living.

Guest

With a response like that you must be one of their intellectual managers. One day at a time; we will pick them off.

I have twenty good years left, just going to see how much damage we can do. Watch out! I have recruited all the loyal committed employees from them and we are on a mission. Don't worry, we are an equal opportunity destroyer.

We have taken a ton of customers from other company's too... hopefully you are not out here on the west!

If you are, you will feel the pressure. Not bad from a fired *** I think I need to put you guys on the payroll with all the accounts you give me..

Guest

AmeriGas is by far the largest propane company in the United States. You're doing a pretty awful job at "kicking the ***" out of them, don't you think?

You sound like a bitter loser who got fired after they found out about your crack problem.

Guest

I have news to all: I was an employee for 17 years and had my blinders on for the whole time (dedicated and committed to this company). I was so abused I took the blinders off and now I work for the competition.

Margin driven company, you mean nothing to them. The under filled cylinder chaos, that is intentional. It was planned--i was in the meeting. They treat employees like ***: do more work with less people.

I now love and enjoy my job again, and amerigas is paying for it. We are kicking the *** out of them.

Hopefully one day they will wake up and smell the coffee, I doubt it. Keep it going amerigas, you are our best sales people.

Rudeness and non- delivery

I ran out of propane for cooking in my home. I called amerigas in Palmer and they have a woman there (Terry) that is extremely rude and condescending. They never offered to sen a man out for an extra charge (which I would have paid) and told me that they would call the morning of the delivery to let me know that they were coming. I told them that was unacceptable so she said they would call Monday (5 days later) to tell me the day they would be in my area. Who does business this way? I had to eat out for a week or cook in my microwave. They made me wait a full week for propane!! They are the rudest company I have ever dealt with and it happens every time I call.

I forgot to mention that even your reply to this guy is mean and condensending and rude.

Guest

Considering the fact that at will customers get "topped off" and extra fees for delivering, I would put the at will customers down too If I was your customer. I too ran out when I was out of state.

When I returned and found it emtpy I was charged for checking it even tho I rent the tank. I was rudely told, not once but twice by two different people it had to be tested and not once did they mention a fee to test THEIR tank. My tank has never been checked or maintained in the time I have been living here and started renting their tank unless I complained it was leaking, one of which times it was filled one day and empty the next. They promise me in the summer to maintain it in the fall.

In the Fall they promise me in the spring. They didn't want to "ruin your pretty flowers". In the spring they never show up and we do it all over. When I tried to cancel them it costs me 200.00.

When they test their tank it cost me 97.00 (Half of the fee to get rid of them). None of the fees were ever explained and when I complained about that they said I excepted their rules when I accepted their gas.

I never even knew the company I liked was bought out until I started getting poor service and complained....You can't win with this company. They are scammers.

Guest

We do our best to accomodate customers, even those who do not take responsibility for their own LP for cooking or heating. I apologize if you are a automatic fill customer, but if you are a will call customer federal regulations permit us 10 days to deliver. The old adage of "Failure to plan on your part does not constitute an Emergency on my part" comes to mind.

That being said . . . I do wish at times that we had some "rude" people that worked in our office (OK, they are rude but not in this particular motif). A will call customer calls and complains that they are out of gas. Our girls call and we are suppose to drop our scheduled customers (at our shop we have 8 hrs/day industrial routes to run so anything above and beyond that really messes us and our regular customers up) and go immediately to the OOG call.

It will help immensely if you would keep an eye on your gauge and call at aroud 30%. That way it gives the driver (who really gives a rats *** about the company) time to schedule it into his route plus it gives you time to search for the best price which most often is not amerigas.

Amerigas is one horrible company.

I really don't know where to begin...I just want to warn everyone out there, DO NOT for ANY REASON use Amerigas for ANYTHING, unless you like being overcharged, harassed, hoodwinked, and hung up on. I have never dealt with such incompetence in my life, and all I wanted was some heat. I've already talked with Suburban Propane. They have been very accommodating. In this day and age, can companies really afford to have idiots running their businesses? Amerigas doesn't care about anything but money, yet somehow, they have a very hard time keeping track of payments. I keep paying for the same delivery! I keep getting different answers to the same questions, and then the employees have the nerve to get pissy with me when I make them aware of their error. I will NEVER use or recommend them again.

Here are your choices: Buy a new, empty tank and ielediatmmy exchange the empty for a full one. Cost, about $50 US.

Exchanges are normally less than $20. This option offers you the convenience of exchanging an empty for a full at numerous places. The downside is that you never know if you're getting a full tank in exchange. Lately, these companies have been downweighting what's in the tanks in order to keep their prices almost the same.

Buy a new, empty tank and have it filled at a service station that services camping trailers, etc., or a feed store, etc. Cost, about $50 US. Refills are normally less than $20. You're trading the convenience of easy, fast refills for the knowledge that your tank will be filled on a scale.

The normal tanks hold 20 pounds of liquid petroleum gas.

The downside is that you'll eventually have to have the tank re-certified that it's safe to hold the gas. Depends what's important to you.Good Luck!

first let me apologize for a few bad apples. I have worked from several Amergas locations around the country and must say that the VAST MAJORITY of employees will bend over backwards for any customer who shows even a shred of politness and will *** our tongues for the rude.

I have been called out on holidays and in the middle of the night(i dont get the service fee) so for a basic wage, I crawl around under your house in 20below zero weather getting your heat back on so your family can be comfortable, while mine sits home alone. 3 times on Christmas day, could you smile and be friendly? But i'm expected to.

Thank you to those who appreciate what we do! and btw, Amerigas owns Suburban

Guest

We've had Suburban Propane for 10 years and each year they offer a "pre-paid" price a dollar or more a gallon then Amerigas and other propane suppliers. Then it's negotiating like I was buying a car.

Gotta wonder if this is a problem across the spectrum of propane distributors.

So now I'm wondering about Amerigas.

Guest

my hubby works for amerigas and their drivers took a stand and got a union involved!!Also alot of customers are very hard to please and looking for some free gas!! while this company isn't top notch it is not the worst!! Customers are very rude to the drivers and they are not in charge!!!

I worked in the central call center and can see both sides. It is true that the local stores do what they can to help customers, problem is that all the power has switched to the call center.

As far as managers and numbers, you could not be more correct. All we heard, even when it was dead of winter and had 200 people on hold, was "numbers, numbers, numbers"..

if you want to move up then make sure you make a manager your best friend. Sad..

Guest

To 'stocker'swife'.........No need to contact 'Ethic's Hotline', they report to the Manager of which the complaint is about! Giving him(or her) a chance to come up with an excuse!!

the 'Ethic's Hotline # is (866)384-**** ! They'll give you a case# , so you can call back later & see if your complaint was handled correctly.

This is only a 'cover-up' to look as if they realy care! Amerigas is "NumberOne" in the Industry because the treat 'Employees & Customers like #Two!!!

Will not refund money owed, terrible customer service

sold my house and the propane balance was settled in escrow, unfortunately amerigas came out and demanded the new difference from the new owners after we had taken care of it. they paid it and now i cant get my money back from them because the account is in my ex wifes name but our divorce in 2003 i was rewarded the house and all accounts associated. they'll take my money for gas and propane but when im due 400 or so dollars they wont deal with me even though i can order gas. i wouldnt even be in this mess if when i ordered propane last time they over filled (oops) by a 100 gallons. so i agreed to pay, little did i know it would *** me in the rear. chiloquin oregon secretary is rude and worthless.

Not ALL DRIVERS WILL TAKE COD!! ALSO THE DRIVERS MAKE THE DELIVERY AS THE TICKETS ARE SET OUT BY UPPER MANAGEMENT!!

Guest

YOU WANT TO DOULBLE DIP YOU SAY YOU GOT THE MONEY IN ESCROW TO PAY THE BILL YOU DIDN'T PAY THEN YOUR NEW HOME OWNER GOT SCREWED BY YOU AND YOU WANT AMERIGAS TO PAY YOU A SECOND TIME.

Guest

This kind of 'CROOKED-ACTION' is common at Amerigas!! They give you the run around until you give-up & forget it!!

The best way to get a 'Delivery' is to be there when the truck comes. Tell your 'Provider' a time that you want the delivery made. Say between lunch & 4pm! Pay the driver !

It's called 'COD'!! This puts the driver with responibility of when it was made!!

AmeriGas Strikes Again

AmeriGas bought out All Star Gas over a year ago. My service has been totally unacceptable ever since. They talk about their automated program to ensure you don't run out. Doesn't work. Ran out of propane again over the weekend and they tell me it will be 7-10 days before I will get a delivery unless I agree to Pay $185 special delivery charge. This company puts its customers at the bottom of its priorities. I intend to ensure that everyone in my community is aware of this most recent snafu. I have not had one successful conversation with these people since they took over my account. Not even mad anymore. Just pissed.

NFPA will not help with delivery problems.

NFPA is an organization that produces a book that lists minimal rules and regulations for instulation of gas piping and venting. It is used to determin adaquate pipe size and distance of equipement from important locations. simple facts is correct about delivery info.

Guest

YOU ARE ALL *** IDIOTS THE NFPA IS NOT A REGULATORY INTITY THEY ARE AN ASSOCIATION THAT WRITES AND SELLS CODE BOOKS FOR DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES. PROPANE IS NOT THE SAME AS NATURAL GAS OR ELECTRIC UTILITIES WE DON'T HAVE THE MONOPLOY OR THE GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES.

THE *** THAT SAYS CALL EVERYONE AND SEE WHO COMES FIRST ISN'T ON PROPANE AND DOESN'T DO THAT IF YOU CALL ME AND MY COMPETITORS FOR GAS THE SAME DAY AND THEY GO FIRST AND THEN YOU REFUSE MY DRIVER YOU WILL BE ON MY NO DELIVERY LIST AND WHEN YOU NEED GAS AND THEY CAN'T GET YOU I WILL NOT DELIVER TO YOU UNLESS YOU GO TO THE OFFICE AND PAY CASH IN ADVANCE. YOU *** THINK ITS SO EASY TO DO THIS BUSINESS *** YOU PLAY GAMES AND SEE WHERE YOU ARE WHEN YOUR *** *** RUNS OUT OF GAS ON CHRISTMAS EVE IF YOUR ON MY LIST YOU WON'T GET MY HELP AND I'M THE ONLY COMPANY AROUND MY AREA THAT HAS AFTERHOURS(FOR A FEE)SERVICES. GET ELECTRIC EVERYTHING AND SCREW OVER YOUR AREA UTILITY.

THEY CAN RECOVER THERE LOSSES THROUGH SUBSIDIES. ENJOY YOUR WINTER ***.

Guest

The only time a "Keep Fill" customer runs out of gas and is charged, is if the account was past due. As long as the account is in good standing, the propane will be sent out to you that night for no extra fee. You can't blame AmeriGas for not paying your bill.

Guest

"Don't let the 'Gas-Companys' dictate to you (the Consumer)how you will be treated! It is "YOU" the customer that should dictate how you are to be serviced!

At these prices, 'THEY' should be glad someone still uses it!! "Buy" your tank!! When you order gas, give them a 'DEADLINE' to be there or you go somewhere else! Then, don't wait for them (whoever you called), call another Gas Co.

& have them on the way too!! Whoever gets there first, gets your business! These 'Gas Companys' manipulate people to do things the way "THEY" want you to! It's common among Gas Co.

to tell thier employees to "Train-Your-Customers"! If you take the Gas Co. back to when they "had to COMPETE" for your business, you will get better service! "REMEMBER"!!!!

You are the CUSTOMER!!! Without YOU, who are they going to sell to?.......(Wonder how long 'Don' will let this stay on here?)

Guest

If your account was past due then your propane delivery is on hold until the bill i spaid in full. Once it's paid then standard delivery time is put into effect, 7-10 days unless you pay the expedite fee.

Being on keep fill you have to pay your bill each month in full and on time. You also need to make sure your report any usage changes because that effects how your keep fill is forcasted.

However, if the account was in good standing and not a hold on keep fill, I would request a manager. I used to work there and saw this alot.

Guest

If you ere on a 'KEEP-FILLED' account, & can prove that was your choise of delivery, then you do not have topay a delivery-fee!!! Contact the B.B.B.

& the 'NFPA' about how you were treated!

In the FUTURE, be a 'Will-Call' Customer & tell them what time you want the delivery! Pay the driver a "COD", 7 then it's his wagon to role then!!

Guest

If you were on a "Keep-Filled" program, you are not to be charged a 'Del. Fee'!!

Get in touch with Better Bus. Burea & 'The NFPA'!! You have 'rights' as a customer that relys on 'company's service'!!

The NFPA will *** a Knot in thier ....... where they earn thier paychecks!!

Ameri-Gas

Just purchased new property and called Ameri gas on July 15th to schedule service for 08/07/09. They arrived and the service man was very helpful, however unable to fill tank due to possibly belonging to another company. Re-scheduled for 9/4/09 for delivery of gas once we found out tank was owned by myself. Week before 9/4/9 I called and asked if there was going to be any problem with inspecting and filling tank on same day, if so I wanted to know what I could do to make sure both happened. The representative there told me there should be no problem we can do both. on 09/4/09. I waited from 8 am until 3 pm for them to show, No one came so I called. The representative then stated he is only coming to inspect and he will be there but we are not delivering gas today. Ridiculous I replied, told them never mind I would find someone else to deliver.

HEY RETIRED PROPANE *** GAS CHECK IS A VOLUNTARY PROGRAM THAT SOME COMPANIES USE AND YOU LIKE MOST PEOPLE THAT DO IT AREN'T EVEN SURE HOW TO CORRECTLY COMPLETE THE INSPECTION. AND IF YOU HAD BEEN EMPLOYED BY ANY BODY OF LARGE CAPACITY SALES YOU WOULD KNOW YOU DON'T DELIVER TO EVERY BODY EVERYDAY YOU HAVE ROUTES AND YOU HAVE TO TRAIN PEOPLE THAT THERE ROUTED DAY IS MONDAY AND THEY AREN'T GETTING GAS ON WEDNESDAY UNLESS THEY PAY A OFF SCHEDULE FEE SO THEY WILL REMEMBER THAT THEY NEED TO CALL BEFORE MONDAY SO THEY WILL LOOK AT THERE TANK INSTEAD OF HAVING TO SPEND $100.OO *** YEAH C.O.

TANKS ARE DANGEROUS DO YOU KNOW WHY WE STOPPED GIVING LONER TANKS TO FARMERS YEARS AGO BECAUSE THEY WOULD GO GET THERE AMONIA IN MY FARM CARTS AND YOU PROBABLY DON'T KNOW THAT AMONIA IS CORROSIVE TO BRASS AND COPPER SO HOW DO WE KNOW THIS GUY DIDN'T BY HIS TANK FROM FARMER JOHN WHO USED MY CART FOR AMONIA AND TO TOP OFF HIS OWN TANK BECAUSE HE HAD PROPANE LEFT OVER AFTER BURNING. YOUR PROBABLY FROM A STATE THAT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TESTING OR LICENSING REQUIRMENTS AND WALKED IN THE CO-OP ONE DAY AND GOT A JOB AS A PROPANE MAN.

YOU ARE THE REASON THINGS LIKE GENT W.V. HAPPEN UNQUALIFIED UNTRAINED PEOPLE HANDLING A DANGEROUS PRODUCT.

Guest

"The Delivery Driver , if properly trained, should do a 'Gas Check' before filling Tank, but , however, the Service Tech. should have already performed that when he was there & delivery should have been "next-day".

July 15th is "NOT" a busy time of year for deliverys, as he stated, "We're not delivering today." Sounds like "very-poor-service" & this 'gassman'needs to be at work in the field & not @ Boss' Desk watching 'Soap-Operas'. Or should I say "kneeling" @ Boss' Desk.

Guest

"Who are you guys?! What is 'danderous'?

I think you should look to a company that has "real-professionals" that employees 'quality-staff' with exp.

to handle "quick-responce" to customers, be small or large. This 'Industry' is too large to "put-up" with 'White-Trash' ( gassman )that spends thier time 'impressing-thier-superiors'.

Maybe the next morning? Did you even ask? Customer owned tanks are the most danderous, not because they are bad, because the delivery company has no idea about their history. The office person should not have promised you a delivery same day (as inspection) unless they were very sure of it.

Agreed.

Hope you didn't jump the gun, also hope you get great service and prices. Peace.

Guest

The reson this customer did not get a 'Delivery' is because the H'ville Office has a Delivery Driver that is MARRIED to the 'Office-Manager' that know's all the 'Manager's'"dirty-little-secrets"!! So if she wants her 'LAZY-Little-Hubby' to have a GRAVY-DAY, he does!

You'll see him at one of the many 'WaffleHouses' in the area! He is particulerly fond of the one in Columbus because it's "out-of-sight" so to speak!! She (the office manager) is accustom to talking to her Sister until about 10AM, so you can't get thru to office.

You have to leave a message! The 'Manager' knows these things, but like I said, She know's all his "dirty-little-secrets"

Amerigas Come Get Your Tanks!!!

I am waiting for Amerigas to come get their tanks since November 2008, it is now the end of September 2009. They charged me a tank fee for not using enough propane, which was never in any contract I signed and have been a loyal customer since they were LEVEL PROPANE many years ago. I am billing them for caretaker services and may make a HOG roaster out of one if they are not gone by November. A year is long enough to exersize ownership transfer. As the weeks move On I will move them down the driveway closer to the road. Maybe someone will pick them up.

FIRST OFF DO NOT TOUCH THE VALVES unless you want to be creamated and try calling corprate mgrs realy dont like haveing to explain why they are slow as *** and dumb as dirt if they wont give you contact info i will i just walked out today from amerigas and not real fond of them however thats not water in that tank and a leak no matter how small is bad and realy all you have to do is say you smell propane around the tank

Guest

Or you could calm the *** down and be patient like a civilized human being. The tank doesn't take up much space, and unless you've got a postage stamp sized yard I think you'll be just fine. Have some patience for crying out loud.

Michael S Qac

After 30 days of you notifing them to pick up their tanks, you should charge them a storage fee. :grin

Guest

Did they try to charge you a termination fee of $95.00? I been with them since 7/02

and left them because all of these hidden charges.

I told them take me to court because in my so contract it's not mention. I don't even have a term agreement.

Guest

'Ya know, if that Tank had a "LEAK", & it was reported to local Fire Dept., the Fire Dept. would get in touch with them to get it "NOW"!!!!!

I think I would check for leak realy early on Sunday Morning!! There's a tiny valve on the side, that is 'FAMOUS' for leaking!!

What a way to attract new customers!

Looking to switch propane suppliers, we contacted the local Amerigas dealer (north Florida). We needed three new tanks, and planned to install a tankless water heater. An appointment was made--giving wide latitude for salesman who, we were assured, would call between 9 and 12 a.m. Changed our schedule and waited till after 12. No show! Called office . . . and was assured that the call could be completed sometime this afternoon. NOT! Just called the Farmers Co-op--what could be worse than the supplier we are leaving and a prospective supplier that did not feel our business warranted courteous treatment.

Amerigas bought Level propane not the other way around.

Guest

Yes, how dare that salesman not drop everything he was doing to tend exclusively to you. It's not like he has other customers that need attention too.

It's not like he's a human being who may have had a million different issues come up.

You sound like a whining child. One missed appointment and you're crying about it on the internet.

Guest

"Sounds like you need to go back to Amerigas & "Kiss-Up" some more!!

Guest

:( You think thats bad. Try dealing with a call center.

AmeriGas was bought out by Level Propane 4 yrs ago.

Their moto Screw the small customers to pay for the larger ones. Once they wake up and do business like they did in the past (Which WORKED) they'll gain the trust and respect back from both Employees and Customers

Amerigas Cotinues to Rip Off Consumers

So the REASON they decided to put only 15# instead of 17# in your tank back in August of 2008 when "the cost of propane was rising sharply" was "to avoid further increases, at that time, in the cost per exchange for consumers." Isn't that special?? Now that propane is at a 7 year low do you think they will go back up to 17#s? Yeah right! That would be like Mayor Daley in Chicago reducing fees and taxes!! Do yourself a favor and go to places that don't rip you off. Where's Hank Hill when we need him??

Guest

Why is it that the price of gas has gone down at the pumps and by the barrel yet propane has remained high and unchanged?

Guest

"It's amazing that there isn't any other Propane Companys 'complained-about' on this site! Wonder WHY??

Would it be because "no other cos. "rip-people-off"? Or would it be because Amerigas "OWN'S THIS SITE"?!!

If so, try using 'Blossman Gas, Energy United, Freeman's Gas, Suburban Gas, R&B GAS, G&B Gas, SouthernStates !! Wonder how long this 'comment' will last!

How long is one cookout? You state you had eight (8)cookouts in one week.

Do you know how many gallons of propane are in the container size for the grill you were using? You should know what you had exchanged your old tank for. Cooking hotdogs takes less time than cooking turkey's.

Were you using sear burners and using the extended burner for boiling water for corn? How many hours use do you think you got out of the tank of propane?

***-baby customers

Sick and tired of customers, most of which don't pay their bills and then blame the Company for poor service when the company doesn't continue to give them gas. Or customers who purchase a product that has a net contents printed on the packaging, but feels that they should have it pointed out to them like a pre-school child.

Also sick and tired of ex-employees get themselves fired or quit, and then blame the company for their lack of ability to perform anything more than punch a time-clock. These complaints are classic examples of a nation that has wandered away from the basic value of 'personal responsibility' and has embrased the idea of having someone else take care of them.

I have a 7 year old and a 4 month old. We had our tank maintained I.

October, yet here it is barely 2 months later and they red tagged our tank as unsafe because it doesn't have some new double valve it supposedly needs because it is an older tank. Now I have 2 kids in a house with no heat! The bill is paid in full. My 4 month old was in NICU for 2 weeks when he was born and has been ill the last month.

Customer service said to call Them back Monday morning!

It's 32* outside and it's Friday! Screw Amerigas!

Guest

ITS SO TRUE THIS WOULD BE A *** OF A BUSINESS IF YOU NEVER HAD TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS.

Guest

This guy sounds like an AmeriGas Manager or a manager wanna be. The biggest deal with this particular subject is that AmeriGas will talk about safety but when it comes to safety for employees or customers that (safety) is out the window if it would mean not selling gas. If a driver has the honesty and integrty not to deliver the gas and lets the office know about it the manager will send another driver to deliver gas. There is absolutely nothing that will keep amerigas from delivering gas or backing their management for breaking laws or disregardling federal regulations. I know I have been there and seen one driver refuse to deliver gas in an unsafe situation and him being made fun of and his job threatened and another driver going ahead and making the illegal delivery.

I have seen employees threatend with termination for following company policy if it interferes with gas delivery.

I have seen employees threatened for refusing to go against Federal Regulations.

I have seen employees threatened for pointing out failures of management or coming to the aid of a fellow employee who has been wrongfully disciplined.

THE one and only thing that amerigas cares about is making money for senior management and stock holders.

The safety and welfare of employees and customers are of no concern if it interferes with selling LP.

The writer of this original post mus t be the kind of employee that amerigas covets. Dishonest with no integrty. Just alap dog sitting at the bosses feet waiting to get his head scratched for being a good boy and making no waves.

I wonder how the bat snot any of them can sleep at night knowing what goes on with this company.

Guest

realy thats what you think. well maybe you should look at direct voucher accounts and tell me why they would what 7 or more days to deliver to homes with very sick small children in them

Guest

Bob should find out what the 'FACTS' are before he 'MOUTH'S OFF'!! Like most 'Brown-Nosers'he can't "keep-up" so he sticks that nose of his where the BOSS sits!!

That's your idea of "Job-Security" huh BOB? Maybe that's why "you are SICK........alot!"

Guest

Wake Up BOB!!! You say the 'PREVIOUS-OWNER' "PAID" for the gas & the 'NEW-OWNERS' were using it up!?

The gas belongs to the 'NEW-OWNERS' ***!!! Like all the other 'EMPLOYEES'on this SITE, you sound like a 'KISS-UP'!! Do you honestly think Amerigas should get paid "TWICE" for the same GAS?!

Go ahead BOB!!! PUCKER-UP!!!

Guest

As an Amerigas employee, I can back up a lot of what's been posted on this page. Customers have no sense of personal responsibility, and want to *** and moan before being given the world, even when it's 100% their fault.

I recently had a woman rant at me much like many of the people on this site. She had moved into a home that had an Amerigas tank sitting there from the previous owners, and was irate because we'd come and locked off the tank because she was using the gas that the previous owners had paid for. Stealing fuel, and she has the audacity to tell me that she's going to tell all of her friends how awful Amerigas is. How dare we prevent her from stealing someone else's fuel, right?

There are a lot of courteous, concerned and hardworking people at Amerigas. I know that my coworkers and I try our best to help every customer we come into contact with. People refuse to accept reality, however. We can't give you just any price you want. We can't make your tank pickup happen instantly. We can't waive every fee and charge.

We try to be as nice as we can to our customers, but at the end of the day you have to remember that we're a business. We need to pay our bills too. If we just gave everything away, we wouldn't be in business for very long.

Guest

I need to respond i'm a operatiomal supervisor and i see all kinds of crazy complaints. For example a customer need a new hot water heater installed on a saturday i told him it would be at the over timr rate he said that was fine he need hot water for his customers.

So i called in two of my men they were to get the old water heater out while i went to pick one up from one of our suppliers who by the way came in on his own time to open his store up for me. It took 3 hours to install the heater and when i made the bill out i only charged for the two guys i didn't charge my time. When the customer recieved his bill he called me to comlpain it was to high i explained to him i only charged for two men not three and that i had to pay them their over time rate. He still wasn't happy and refused to pay the bill.

I told him he could call customer care if he liked but i didn't think it would help his cause. Some time you go above and beyond and people still dont care.

Guest

Absolutly! Whinners that think they are owed everything. They don't whine when they let themselves run out of gas at 2AM on the coldest day of the year and Amerigas doesn't hesitate to come out to fill them.

*** poor service Amerigas in Bossier City La

I have called the local office weekly for the last 3 months, to get 3 of your Forklift propane bottles exhanged. You local office apparently has only one man to do this sort of service and he has been on vacation. I need to go to work for you so I can take 3 months off. Manager does not seem to care and doesn't really seem to know what is going on around him. Your local delivery man that fills the bottles , says that he hears this same complaint from most of his customers!!!! Looks like Ferrell Gas is going to get a new customer!

WAY TO GO JIM! I GET A TON OF UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS FROM THEM TOO!!

IT IS A WONDER THEY DO NOT ASK FOR COMMISSION...

(15 A MONTH) THEY ARE SO BAD HERE THEY HAVE LAID OFF TWO EMPLOYEES, AND REDUCED THE REST TO 36 HOURS.... THEY ARE RUNNING ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS OFF; WITH POOR SERVICE....

Guest

Please continue to believe that.

Jim from Ferrell is like a vulture. His company can't get customers the usual way because of all their hidden fees and other *** so he picks on the confused and sickly customers from other companies who post on worthless websites like this ones.

The worst service ever

Every time I order it takes me any where from 3 to 8 phone calls before I get propane. I have ran out of gas 3 times in 3 years. the 1st time it was during -10 degree weather for 26 hours while I watched the Amerigas fill the neighbors. I called when my tank is at 35% because I know it takes 3 weeks to get filled, and when I called they said they were sorry but there is nothing they could do. Mean while my family was freezing. This is just one occasion. They have lied to me saying that they will be there the next day. Ends up being 2 weeks later. I would advise everyone going with someone besides AMERIGAS. I pay my bills on time and do not deserve to be treated this way as a consumer. I ahve asked them to come get there tank and they said there will be a $275.00 disconnect fee. Yea ok, lets see if I pay that one. I don't understand how a company can stay in business the way they operate.
