No gas and freezing temps

AmeriGas - No gas and freezing temps
AmeriGas - No gas and freezing temps - Image 2
Due to some internal mix up, our delivery has been cancelled twice. I can not get anyone to help even though we are now out of propane and are staying in an Airbnb since the internal temperature of our house is below freezing. This delay has literally cost a small fortunate since we have to pay for alternate lodging out of pocket, not to mention the possible damage to our pipes and appliances at home. have also spent hours on the phone being repeatedly lied to by their customer care agents. Many have promised to elevate our case but when I call again, no progress has been made. Be warned, stay far far away from Amerigas. They are the most despicable and unconscionable company I have ever dealt with. Shame on them.

Tank emptied in December. They wouldn't answer the phone or email. I went to their office and the person wouldn't open the door. I had to switch companies asap. They wouldn't pick up old tank either. Now they want to charge me to remove the tank. Won't waive the fee even though they have been horrible.

Canceled business, company will pick up tank, charge me $ 149.00 to pick up. Will not refund 100 gallon of fuel left in tank. This 100 gallon cost me $376.00, no refund on this recent fill.n

Texted ameri gas, they will not refund the fill of $376.00 for 100 gallon. Told them to refund that amount , they said no and wanted 149.00 for them to come pick up tank. But said it would be 2-4 weeks before picking it up. They will end up with 100.00 worth of fuel and 149.00 worth of pickup fees. I would recommend not doing business with this company, there are better ones out ther . Not a reputable company.do use a more reputable company do usedo

AmeriGas - Worst service ever
I ran out of propane. I paid an extra $200 for them to come in 3 days, otherwise I'd have to wait a week. So they were supposed to come on a Saturday. I made sure to take the day off of work because I know I needed to be here to let them in the house to make sure my furnace can turn on since I was out of gas. Anyways, they came unexpectedly on Thursday. I didn't know they would do that. I wasn't here. Not only could my furnace turn back on, but the guy DID NOT EVEN CONNECT THE GAS LINE THAT LEADS TO THE HOUSE!! The best part of all this, when I called, they said the earliest they could come to fix THEIR mistake was Wednesday. That's one week since I placed the order. I wanted my $200 back! Why in the world did I pay $200 for nothing!! This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with in my life. Zero stars!

Service and billing

Original review Jan 31, 2021

I received general customer service response from my letter below basically saying charges were correct.

To whomever at AmeriGas that can make a decision:

Let me just say you use to be excellent. Our local AmeriGas knew their customers and then it all fell apart.

I have owned this property for 12 years and until recently was an AmeriGas customer. At this address there are 5 propane tanks: 2 are 1000 gallons each, 1 is 500 gallons, another 250 and finally 120 gallons. That is a lot of propane and the bills are ALWAYS paid. Sometimes a tank would be placed in my brothers name or my son.

I will get to the immediate point first: the bill sent to Ryan Lange account number 20085**** needs to be thrown out.

In fact, besides throwing out I feel you owe him an additional $200 or more due to issues with tank.

#1 AmeriGas installed the tank. There was a problem with the shop heater last year and propane was shut off to heater, yet tank had been filled. Tech said tank was installed wrongyet it was YOUR TECH! Thus, a plumber was hired to attach heater to our 250 gallon tank.

AmeriGas was contacted no less than 4 times, even in person before office closed to take out the propane that was just filled and paid for and I asked for propane to be put in the 500 gallon tank. All requests ignored. Next to utilize the propane AmeriGas came out and moved tank and charged to reconnect heaterabout $150. Propane was used up, AmeriGas than came and filled the 500 gallon tank yet said they were not authorized to put propane in 120 gallon tank (YOUR TANK)..and it was empty.

Tried to call to fill yet was told since empty there would be additional $200 emergency charge ,or a regular fill would be 2 weeks out. When checking on status the request for propane it was not posted, plus my son said he was not going to pay an added $200 fee as you were just here filling the 500 gallon. Another plumber hired to reconnect shop heater back to the 250 gallon tank.(Unable to do work with no heat in shop)

Now lets go back a year or somy son needed propane in the house, the 500 gallon and AmeriGas refused to fill saying he owed money. I personally went to office and discovered his payments were applied to my account, and not his.

He should have had a credit. I asked to correct that, yet your office said they had to complete a form and my sons bill had to be paid before propane would be deliveredthus I paid over $350 on his behalf. Thats when I started to get very made. To switch providers, I was told I needed to own the tank and buying the 500 gallon buried tank that had been paid on for over 10 years still expensive.

So, we stayed with AmeriGas but I switched my 2000 gallons to another vendor. But this last issue with little tank was too much.

Come to find out the only tank on this property I didnt own was the 120 gallon tank and I did get that in writing. AmeriGas did show up rather promptly to remove the 120 gallon empty tank, then sent a bill for restocking, pumping out empty tank, and service dispatch.SERIOUSLY!

Next issue: my son was hit by a car, died during 1st surgery and then had 6 more. He was approved for energy assistance.

The $500 payment was sent to AmeriGas. That must be returned immediately. It is not intended for a bogus service charge and he needs the propane.

By the way, your Bayfield AmeriGas office is 1 mile down the road from me and since COVID we can never speak to someone there. Weve knocked on the doors, sat in your driveway waiting for staff to come and go.

The other propane providers have kept their doors open. In fact, most of your old staff now works for them, and they are back to knowing their customers.

So, in closing, please remove the $219.98 charge from my sons bill account 20085****, and refund the $500 energy assistance.

I spoke to LEAP and they said the money needs to be sent to Ryan and I should contact them if it isnt promptly received. I also feel you should send Ryan an additional $150 for this nightmare and previous service charges.

Looking forward to your prompt response.

Sincerely.

I am not a consumer, my late father was for decades. He passed away in November.I attempted to cancel his budget plan. I was unable to since I was not him. After finally in February getting through to them, he was dead and unable to pay they sent a final bill of over 1000. Since then, they have continued to send a threatening letter and sent the bill to a collection agency. It took awhile to get some money from his estate, but it now paid along with late fees.

They are horrible, a year now, i cant get rid of them, go with a local provider instead.

Sounds about right, Amerigas sucks & gouges on their price for gas. I have had them unfortunately since they took over the smaller companies in our area (central western tn) & have nothing but trouble from them since.

When there were somewhat local offices still available, I could get a delivery within 14 business days (Mind you they deliver to 2 business customers EVERY day in Linden) & now they say 21 to 28 BUSINESS days & gas shot up $.47 per gallon in 3 days. I don't think so.

I need to cancel my service with Amerigas.

I ran out of propane On 2-12-21. I called and told them I needed some butane.

I had a yellow tag on my tank. No one told me there was a yellow tag until I checked the butane. I have called four times in the past 12 days to try to get some butane. I still have not gotten a call from Amerigas or gotten any service person or any propane.

I have been without propane for 12 days and still no call. All my pipes in my house burst,

I have no butane, I have no water because no one has pipes right now I have not been able to shower wash clothes clean dishes cook or anything else. Now how I have thousands of dollars and expense to try to put my house together.

Thats why I want to cancel my account with you. You have not done your job as far as keeping me in propane and I see no further reasonTo continue with my service and Amerigas you have failed in your job.

Poor service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We have been loyal customers of Amerigas for 45 years. Was on automatic delivery.

For the first 3 months of this year we ran out of fuel. The first month we are out of fuel for 3 days, the next month 5days and the third month over 7 days. When the fuel was delivered, the driver locked the tank because no one was home to sign a piece of paper and to check for a gas leak. We had left a note to inform the driver he did not need to come into the home because we did not have any pilots that needed to be lite, So we were without heat for over a week and this was during the time Virginia had a terrible ice storm.

After that we decided we could no long deal with Amerigas, and requested to have the account close and for someone to come and remove the gas tank from our property.

The tank is still full of fuel and locked. Two months have past and no one has come to pick up the tank yet, and Amerigas still have us owning for fuel for which we have no intention of paying.

AmeriGas misrepresentation of the truth and rude customer service

I paid the urgent fee of $300 for propane to be delivered within 24 hours at 2:00 pm yesterday. It is now 4:15 the next day and I still have not received propane or a phone call to tell me they are on the way. 24 hour was over at 2:00 today, and when I called to request a refund because it is well past 24 hours, Juan in the support team offered me $25 then upped it to $40 credit approved by his manager Johnny. I requested to speak with Johnny and was told he is too busy. If delivery is actually by end of day the next day that is what it should be named not within 24 hours. I have waited around all day for them to come and have been told by 3 separate customer representatives that they are in route to my house. Misleading information and rude customer service has left me extremely disappointed in the AmeriGas organization. I would like a phone call from a manager ASAP to discuss the situation. Chelsea Aiken
