I have worked for Amerigas for over 10 year

in the over 10 years many bad things have happened the standards keep getting lower for the tanks. Now that the economy is bad they know the job market is low so they treat the workers worse than ever.Overtime is out of control because they don't hire anyone. This may be one of the poorest companys to work for wages never go up benifts go down treatment is bad and nothing seems to ever get any better.I would recomend the use of any other propane company. They have high gas prices and poor quality it like they just don't care about anyone or anything as long as they keep getting rich!

I feel bad for the people that work out in the field for these clowns, I know it is not their doing. If ever i heard of a company that needs to be organized, its certainly amerigas.

You people should set up a picket line and shut them down. They sound like the old sweat shops of the 20's and 30's ORGANIZE !!!!

Had an account for over 30 years, took over from our parents. Was late last fall on a bill, got hit with 3 $36.00 late charges before we could even get someone on the phone. Was current on bill, and found out they removed the tanks without notification of any kind,...

I recorded 6-7 messages to their various phone numbers; not a single return call as to what the charges of $99 and $389. 73 were all about.

Then I got a "PAST DUE NOTICE and Late fee of $36." Have never seen such a bad public relations maker in my life as and auditor and educator. This operation needs to be examined by regulatory authority.

Hey I charged them storage fee's! SUDDENLY the tank was gone the next business day!!!!

Try it it worked for me! I charged them $10.00 a day! And if you never asked for the tank in the first place, ask them to show proof that you signed ANYTHING! I asked for the paperwork that showed we agreed to a termination fee, and now it has been almost 4 weeks and nothing!!

Not one stitch of paper has been sent to prove what they claim!!

And the girl at the office said she would gladly send it in the mail. They must train their staff on how to be rude, nasty and worse of all immoral!!

Amerigas in Richmond, Virginia - No delivery, won't pick up tank, charge $100 to discontinue service

Two winters ago, I was unable to get a propane delivery from Amerigas. I tried for several weeks to no avail. I went with another company and asked Amerigas to pick up my tank. They didn't. Subsequent attempts to reach them were unsuccessful as they didn't answer their phone. Now they want to charge me a rental fee. When I called to complain, they told me they would charge me a $100 fee to discontinue service. When I asked for a corporate or management person I could speak with, I was told they didn't know. I have emailed the company. Again, no response. DO NOT go with this company.

Baseboard heat can be either hot water or elitrcec. Many condos and apartment buildings use hot water heat as it does not require duct work like forced air does. Electric heat can also be expensive unless the home is well insulated.

Yah, I just cancelled with this company because they were price gouging, horrible access to customer service, and charging me for an account I didnt even have! They picked up the tank alright and left a bill for removal of their own tank!

They say its in their contract, however, I didnt see it in mine, and this information was never disclosed. They need to be sued! The only reason they have grown this big is by bilking their customers and counting on us to just pay, or go into collections. A class action suit is warranted.

They have already been sued for "under filling tanks".

Which means this only one of the many things illegial they do, just the first they got called on! sign me up!

Amerigas in Oakland, California - Servicing of full tank vacation home

Update by user May 29, 2012

Received a phone call from Amerigas, Lakeport. Although Mr. D gave me that he had an oral confirmation from the driver that service was done, that Amerigas shows no gas leakage on their side of the debate, that there is a ticket generated based on history and even if I call and change my service as a \"will call\" I may not get service even if I call (which is what I did last summer).

I have forward my complaint to customerservice@amerigas to see what their response would be. As I stated in my current letter, if I have proof that the service was done that would be one of the items in question since Amerigas fails to leave notice of service provided at the time of service and there is no way to confirm that service is done. I\'m really having a hard time paying for service that has not been requested and there is no proof or notification of service. This does not sit well with my pocket book.

I see that Amerigas has posted on this site to contact them before posting any complaints. Sorry that it was necessary to have to post a complaint. It only proves that we aren\'t alone in some of these situations. Any by posting, we gather more info from one another which can help in the long run.

Most current transaction. Last summer requested Amerigas (Lake County, Ca) to fill tank of my vacation home (getting low). Was told they could not come out until my scheduled date. Scheduled dated was October 5, 2011. Filled tank $960.00. No one living in this home, visited possibly twice over a weekend. No cooking, no washing clothes etc. Now I receive another bill for another 92.4 gallons at a cost of $387.00. I didn't ask for anyone to fill the full tank. Where did they put the propane and why. No receipt left at home. Was it really my house they filled the tank, again how and why if I couldn't get them out there last summer?

This company is the worst. I purchased my home in 2010.

The seller never disclosed that the tank was leased, but just this week, Amerigas came onto my property with no prior warning to me and locked out my tank. They say they bought the company that installed the tank and it is theirs. Now they want $1,000 for a 19 year old tank!

They refuse to negotiate, so I am making them come and remove the tank and will gladly pay someone else that has even a shred of customer service to put in a new tank. AMERIGAS is the worst company i have ever dealt with.
