We rent five warehouse units (four are heated). We set up the tenant agreements whereby the tenants pay utilities.

We call Amerigas before the lease is signed to CONFIRM that the tenant has transferred the utilities to their name. Now we (i.e., the rental Company) receive bill for tank rental. We call to let Amerigas know the account is in the tenant's name. They state that it is not and We (i.e., the rental Company) cannot do anything about it -- the tenant must do it.

We notify the tenant and they tell us it's transferred! Service?

it is a usuall practice to keep the tank information (and thus rental bills) on rental units under the owners name. This prevents the tanks from being picked up when a tennant moves out.

This might be the case.

If the tennants transferred the acount into their name, they should have a record of it. Might be best to bill the rental to the tennant and pay the rent yourself.
