This is the rough draft of a story we hope to get on the presses soon....the real names will then be used!
“Amerigas Seeks Revenge on California Couple”
In December of 2011 Amerigas refunded over $2700 to T** and T*** *** They had been overcharged for propane for years, a company discount not honored. The story was featured on a local news segment, a service local TV stations offer to consumers.
The A***'s recently, again felt taken advantage of by Amerigas. Though they have been on a plan with the company to deliver propane routinely, their tank ran empty on December 4th just days before a major snow storm. Amerigas promptly filled the tank, but when the A*****'s questioned the amount billed, they received a certified letter the very next day from *** ****, the district manager for their area, stating that Amerigas was quitting service, and picking up their equipment (a 250 gallon propane tank, filled to the top)... they gave a 30 day notice. It is required that the A****'s use all the propane in the tank before it is taken from the property. The tank rent is paid through May of 2014!
This in spite of being assured by office manager *** **** that their account would be credited for the amount over billed in June and December of 2013, which amounts to several hundred dollars. An account which will no longer exist.
For the record: we have been customers since 2002, never missing a payment.
Amerigas “prides themselves on customer service” my *** Happy Holidays.
Product or Service Mentioned: Amerigas Account.
