Amerigas in Boston, Massachusetts - Lack of Customer Service-Forced to go to a new Propane Company

We've been a loyal Customer for over 18 years. Three in a half months ago we attempted to call for a refill, we left three voicemails for the local dealer and never got a call back. Our fourth attempt we called the corporate office which they then connected us to the local dealer and we were able to actually speak to a Customer Service Rep. We informed them that we needed our tank to be filled and we were told that we needed to upgrade to a new tank. We were then told that the soonest that they could come out to change to the new tank was going to be three weeks out. We reiterated that would not work since our tank was very low. The response back was that was the best available date. When we said that we would be left with no choice other than going to a different propane company, the Rep did not try to accommodate us in any way. That same day we asked to cancel our account and to please pick up the tank from our property. It is now March 31 (3 1/2 months later), we've left voicemails and even emailed asking for the tank to be picked up and no response!!! Extremely disappointing that this company did absolutely nothing to keep a loyal Customer!

Amerigas in Tomball, Texas - No fuel delivery

We have a leased tank with automatic refill in Tomball TX. The tank ran out Saturday afternoon and we began calling the main office. We were told 5-6 times over the weekend that a driver would be calling us. We are still without propane and it dropped to low 40's this weekend. Now it's the work week and the local office won't answer calls. We called other distributors to get another tank but they all said they were booked up because of so many other people with Amerigas issues. So our Christmas will be without hot water, hot food, and heat. How does a company in America get away with such behavior?

Amerigas in San Francisco, California - They broke my dryer and ran outta gas three times

I have been with AmeriGas on and off for 20 some odd years.. Couple three years now here in Garberville. They're meter goes out and I ran out three different times.. And of course it's in the middle of the winter Not to mention twice in the middle of the night.. They said they were going to picture changer regulator and then they take their mind and decided to try the tank... Damnit are boom truck broke we're going to have to wait another week.... So in the meantime while I ran out of propane my dryer which is a gas dryer goes on The blink. Well I Was told that because the propane went out and that ignited kept looking for propane to light it the timer and everything are all out of whack In other words 1 the sensors are bad... Will commend them for at least coming to try and check it out Only to tell me how sad too bad you need a new dryer.. And on top of that they got my bill all work out of whack And are trying to say that I have taken over 1,200 dollars worth of propane in three weeks... Yeah I'm pissed!!!

Ha! Been with them 30 yrs.

Took 26 yrs to get them to paint tank. They threatened to remove tank caus I used too little ( I conserved! ). Couldn't take the tank so a penalty was assessed.

Your words are kind - my feelings exactly. Last season was my last season.

Amerigas in Denver, Colorado - Worst service!! Very unprofessional!

Ordered service last week Amerigas told me someone would be here to fill my tank by Wednesday the latest, they didn't know what time what day for sure, I have honestly NO IDEA what they do know....waited around 3days and do you think they came by today? NO! I even talked to someone in the office 3 times today & they just kept giving me the run around.....tomorrow is thanksgiving and here are me & my kids without Hot water, a stove to cook on or a heater. A few months back my propane was leaking I could smell it throughout my house & even outside, they sent someone over to check for a leak 3 different times and EVERYTIME they told me there was no leak when there clearly was, so I called someone that works on ac/heaters and they found a leak right away fixed it &when Amerigas came to fill the tank, THERE TANK WAS LEAKING- literally spraying out the gas! So then they took forever to come check that out and eventually put in a new tank.....

We switched propane companies and did so on the anniversary month. We were on a yearly contract with Amerigas since we purchased our home. Besides being expensive for propane, Amerigas once destroyed some curbing at my residence one winter. I took the photos they...

That's correct. If you would read your lease it states.

There is a fee for removal as well as a pump out fee. Its against DOT law to transport a tank over 5%. So yes we do have to pump it out. It takes about 45 min to pump out and pick up the tank.

Why should this service be free.

Theres no company that will come out and do over a hour of work at no charge. Get over it.

We bought a home in 2001 that was heated with propane with a 500 gal above ground tank. The supplier was Amerigas to the previous owner so we contracted with them to be our supplier. We paid to have a new underground tank installed and hooked up to the existing...

Be careful having someone else work on there tank, it is unlawful in some states for each company to do anything but move another companies assets make sure you get something from your new supplier that they will take responsibility for anything that could happen during the transfer. Taking someone to court when you are publicly stating you are going to violate the terms of a signed agreement is a bad idea. Don't lease another tank BUY it this time the stupidist thing i've ever seen is people leasing underground tanks.

Refund from amerigas

They rip u off. Moved 4 months ago. Have yet to recieve my refund for the gas i paid for! They tell me there is nothing they can do that a third party issues their refunds! Shame on u amerigas u r stealing from american citizens. They do not give u a statement of account closure and told me there was 2 gallons in the tank. When i went back to check tank it had more gas than when we moved but amerigas denies they. Added gas with no one living there. They agreed to pay us but never said price per gallon they eere refunding i want what i paid for it! And now!

I am in the process of getting another company. I am burning up what gas I have left and then they can get their junk off my property.

Fran who works at amerigas. It is too late to help me out. The customer service has been so poor that I would not give amerigas another chance.

The prices are so high we can't afford it. I am still waiting for a bill they say I owe them.
