Pass on Amerigas

To whom it may concern, I am taking the time to write a letter regarding customer service within your company. I recently called for service in March of 2011. I was prompted to join a month to month service for $150.00 per month. I would not see a bill until after the fifth month (August 1st) as part of this program. By September I called the local office in Scotts Valley, CA. several times. This is the same office where I went into to sign up for service. I still had not received a bill by the end of September so I called three more times in October only to be told I would receive a phone call back to figure out where exactly my bills are going. I spoke with Latoya Lawsha at the Scott's Valley branch in the beginning of October and finally got some answers to the scenario. To my dismay, I found out they were sending my bills to my physical address not my mailing address. Which by the way the Amerigas office had my telephone number, physical address and mailing address on file. I called and spoke with Latoya on October 22nd regarding billing and a lack of ever receiving a bill. I was informed I had an outstanding bill of $1,346.67 dating back to March (please consider I was on a special six month billing plan). Latoya stated she sent me to collections. I then asked Latoya when exactly she sent me to debt collections. Her response was September. She also has the worst customer service because she laughed and told me that my bill was "brutal". Let me also clarify that during the time of my "six month special pay program" that ended at the end of July. Amerigas conveniently filled up my tank on August 15th after I was "delinquent". Why didn't Latoya Lawsha call me? Or check my file for contact info, or mailing address? Nothing was done. I was sent to collections after I had not paid by August 1st. Yet, they came and filled my tank again in August. I paid the bill on October 29th for the full amount. I was so confused by the lack of customer service and the inept attitude of just clarifying the situation over the phone I went to the office in person. Lotaya Lawsha, was there. I asked for answers to please explain the bill that I had paid. She had nothing but attitude and simply said "what am I supposed to do?" My confusion still existed during this visit because she managed to tell me the fault rested on the branch's side not mine for lack of communication. Yet, sent to debt collections and still getting my tank filled?? When I look at a breakdown of the bill it reads that I was billed $35 for September and October for late payment. Remember, I never received any communication and she said her staff never entered my mailing address correctly. I guess regarding AmeriGas customer service does not exist. I have no problem paying for services that I used. In this case, I used the propane. So I'll pay for it. I refuse to be laughed at, told running up an account to be brutal and inconsiderate. I refuse to be treated in such a manner by people you employ at AmeriGas! Customer Service is everything to me! Latoya Lawsha lacks communication skills and common sense. I am switching service based solely on Latoya's reaction to my questions.

Nice nurse who had Amerigas for 7 years. Now billed $1600 after discontinuing service. I need some witnesses and/or letters of billing practices, budget pay,incorrect deliveries, lack of service, constant complaints of their computer programs, and most of all I need prayers.

We ordered gas on Jan 2nd..was told it could not be delivered until the end of the following week (which should have been Jan. 13th) It is Jan.

16th and still no gas...we have had no hot water or cooking fuel for over a week..and have a small infant living with us...no phone calls are returned...this is absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Am looking for new gas company.

I called Amerigas after not having any gas for 3 months because we had a bill they key sending that I could not pay due to losing my job. When I finally called to ask if I could make arrangements.

I was told my balance was zero!! I then asked if there was any way that they can only fill half the tank since my bill came to $600 the last time they filled it she said sure. I was so happy since I am still looking for a job and cannot pay &600. When they came they filled the tank with 100 gallons instead of 50 like we agreed on!!!

Needless to say I called complaining about this and all she could do was lower it by $150 but now the bill is back up to $569!!!! WTF!!!

Amerigas in Denver, Colorado - Pricing Ripoff

Franktown, Colorado: Amerigas purchased the accounts/tanks of my previous propane provider. I prefer local companies but this is the 2nd time my provider was sold so I just decided to stay with Amerigas. I'm in need of a refill so I called two small local companies to obtain an idea of the market rate for propane. Both quoted $1.89/gal. When I called Amerigas they quoted $3.02/gal. Needless to say, I came unglued! They quickly backtracked and noted I was a previous customer of Mountain Propane so they could offer me a refill at $2.25/gal. What? You lower the price $0.77/gal because I complained? Why not offer $2.25/gal originally? Better yet....how about a market rate quote? If two small companies can quote $1.89/gal....why can't you? Heck, I would have accepted $2.00/gal. I'm now in the process of trying to purchase my own tank so I can shop around and buy at market rates instead of dealing with the Amerigas monopoly. Amerigas, be on notice I'm contacting Colorado Attorney General John Suther's office to lodge a formal complaint against your business practices. You should fined!

I just switched from Amerigas. They bought out a local Propne supplier and they said it would take up to thirty days to get a tank of gas plus the price is fourty dollors more than the local guys charge.

I went with another local supplier.

Screw the big companies and screw Amerigas. I will be painting BOYCOTT AMERIGAS on the tank for all to see

Amerigas in Lexington, South Carolina - Quoted one price, charged another

My complaint is with Amerigas in Lexington, SC. I have their tank for my propane for our gas fireplace. So I don't have to pay a "rental" fee I am required to buy 60 gallons per year. I called last week and was quoted a price of $3.70 per gallon. I told them to deliver exactly 60 gallons and no more. They delivered on Saturday while I was not home. They put 86.9 gallons in the tank, left the slip, which by the way stated "deliver only 60 gallons". I called yesterday and have not had a resolution except of course the girl on the phone said she would try and get that taken care of. Today I get an invoice, not only charging me for 86.9 gallons but they charged me $3.84 a gallon! What nerve they have after quoting me one price to charge me another. I am so done with this company. I intend to make a trip to their office tomorrow and they better have it rectified very quickly. I don't care if they come and drain the tank and remove it, but I won't be paying them any *** recovery charge either. Take your business elsewhere!

i have the same issues with amerigas in lexington,s.c. we have went to another company for a much cheaper price.

i have three invoices fr three weeks. we asked for 100gal. and they filled up our tank. came back out took it out and came back and filled it up.

***. they have us owing over 1200.

and they need to come pick up their full tank. we are done with them!

Amerigas does not disclose charges

Just had a go round with Amerigas. Since they moved our local service station, they now charge $65.00 to come out to look at our fireplace, if there is a problem, they will fix it on another trip for another trip fee $65.00 plus parts and labor. Will not take the word of other licensed professionals as to cause so that they can just bring the anticipated part, must do inspection themselves and then determine parts (thermocoupler). Switched companies due to this mess, they did not transfer the gas to our new tank and are charging $79.00 pump out remaining at their facility, then they'll determine if we really had the 40% remaining that our new company noted. Never mentioned the fee for pumping and didn't tell us that it would not be transferred.

How much does Amerigas pay you to defame people. You no nothing about us.

We have paid our bill, even though we did not call for this propane. We have excellent credit with a propane co. in another state that we have been with for 9 yrs. We have never been over charged by this other company in the different state.

This is why we have been with the other company for so long at our other property. We no not like doing business with companies who treat the customers like this.

Amerigas price gouge

Just had my tanks filled 133.6 gallons of propane. Current rate for our region in Virginia Beach is around $3.33 a gallon. This was verified by 4 sources, the WEB, and several other propane companies. Amerigas charged a whopping $4.66 a gallon. Upon calling their office, I was lied to by the main office in Portsmouth, Va saying that that was the current price. It may be their current price for me but I bet not for other customers. Current price I was given by 3 other companies was $3.33 per gallon with at least a 50 gallon delivery. Been with them for 8 years. You would think this would mean something but evidently not. speak english.they probably cant understand what your trying to say to them on the phone when you call in to complain.propane can expand when its hot the opposite happens when cold.most propane using *** bags in my area are scuzzy welfare trailer park slobs that get heap anyway so why are you *** about price?

Poor Customer Service by Amerigas

I called Amerigas to come do a leak test at my house because I smelled gas. I just moved into this house this past year and haven't had Amerigas out to fill the tank yet. They came out and told me the tank was empty. They said I could pay $350 to fill it at that time and I told them I wanted to wait since I don't use the gas fireplace more than a few times a year. They told me to call if I wanted them to come back and fill the tank. Two days later they came and took the tank. When I called they said it was because I didn't let them fill it when they were here, and that I didn't commit to a contract.
