I have called twice a day for 7 business days trying to resolve a log in issue on accounts we hold for a multiple property account, and to order gas on a tank that is running low. Every time, I call, my call is picked up by Amerigas in a nearby town "because my local office in Martinsville Indiana is so busy and only has two people working it, compared to the staff of 5 at this other office". Problem is, the way Amerigas is set up, the gals in the "other" office cannot access my account, cannot take an order for refill or help me in any way. All they can do is take my info and email the Martinsville office to call me back. So realizing that the squeeky wheel gets the oil... i began to call every hour on Friday because at this point our tank on our rental property is on 10% and it's in the 30s. No call back on Friday, of course. I am beginning to feel as though they are avoiding the call for refill so they can still me with their ludicrous fees for leak check and up my pricing. Fast forward to Sunday evening and our renters report they are out of gas. UGH I all day on Monday using the same hourly schedule (because you know, who doesn't have time for that?) my calls always getting transferred to this other office where they can't help me. They are very apologetic but they can't help me. FINALLY at 3:45 in the afternoon the office that manages our account picks up the phone. I am calm but I do inform this worker of the frustration... we order the gas and she tells me there will be a $110 leak check fee since the tank is empty (even though if they had answered calls last week I would not be in this situation) Also...she'll put it on the schedule but the gas cant be delivered for 10 days. What? Oh but I am informed that for a $150 fee they can deliver within 24 hours. I digress and schedule the delivery but I will be looking for other options as their price gouging and horrid customer service practices are ridiculous. They have let us run out on other properties where we have "keep full" accounts and they pull the same leak check charge. On another account with a property we had sold, they kept an $879 refund check to us for over a year. I had to physically go to the office to demand it. And we all know what would happen if they were not receiving a payment on an account due for a year. Their pricing has become ridiculously high in comparison to other companies. They used to be a decent company to deal with but something has changed. Seeing all these other complaints.. Amerigas needs to be investigated for price gouging, unfair business practices and auditing their accounts for fraud. Ridiculous people to deal with.

Amerigas Gas Tank Review

I've been trying to get Amerigas to make a delivery to my house. And when I call down there you rarely get anyone on the phone. Because they turn off the phones. And when you do speak to the employees everyone tells you something different. And I'm about to run out of gas. And it's below freezing.

Then don't use Amerigas and if you are one of the unfortunates to have experienced their total rip-off services, drop and go to someone like Suburban Propane. After a run-in with Amerigas on their overpricing and then cheating at the end of the budget settlement period by sending a bill in excess of $1000, I decided enough and switched. Only after strongly complaining to the Manager did they agree they "made a mistake" and lowered the overage to $600. So that leaves me wondering - were they going to pocket the difference if I hadn't complained. SO do yourself a favor, call Suburban and get professional service - they even answer the telephone promptly, unlike Amerigas.

Same thing happened to me! I got a bill for the settlement that said i owed $1,800!

and refused to fill it until they got that amount even though it has been -30 degrees in my area and I am due to have an infant anytime now. They didn't give a ***.

I found it hard to believe thy underestimated my gas by that much. In the end I had to beg my mom to use her credit card cause I didnt have $2 grand laying around to give them and I HAD to have gas!

Amerigas Accounting

Amerigas, Hyannis, MA has been billing me for a propane tank they had removed over two years ago. Now they called me and sarcastically said they tried to pick up the tank yesterday "but there was no tank there." They have consistently been harassing me for goods that they can't keep an accounting record of, and then wonder why I ignore their repeated attempts (again sarcastically/unprofessionally) at contacting me to waste my time to assist them with their inability to keep their accounting recording straight. The tank was about 200 gallons in size. Must I be responsible for keeping track of a tank that was over four feet tall, 3 feet wide and weighed over 200 pounds!

Right now amerigas is charging over a dollar more per gallon than other local providers. This is not compared to the other companies new customer price, but their current regular prices.

I am in the process of getting another company. I am burning up what gas I have left and then they can get their junk off my property.

Fran who works at amerigas. It is too late to help me out. The customer service has been so poor that I would not give amerigas another chance.

The prices are so high we can't afford it. I am still waiting for a bill they say I owe them.
