When we moved into our house the people before us had Amerigas and said they suggest to stay with them. Worst mistake we have made in a while.
First, we called them and asked them for a new tank. They said they would switch out tanks for us. They never called, brought a tank, nothing. It felt like we were forgotten.
We were also on automatic delivery and, again, they forgot about us. We were out of propane for a while. Then they decided to raise our price, which was already at $2.49 a gallon ($1.10 more than other propane companies). That was the last straw.
We politely told them that we decided to go with a different company. Immediately they were “up in arms.” All we wanted was a polite cancellation of business. They said nothing about being sorry or even trying to convince us to stay. Then for the past one and a half months we have been calling them to ask them when they were picking up the tank.
Well the first excuse was, “our truck is broken.” Well things do happen, so we gave them some time to fix it. We then called them back on the day that they said they were going to pick it up. We called them back to see what time they were coming just so we knew when to run our errands. We called and they basically stated that they couldn’t, in a defensive tone.
We just wanted to know when they were coming, not to complain.
Poor customer service and all lies. Never go with Amerigas.
