It is now two months after we posted our review. We paid the tank rental and have heard nothing from Amerigas.

We just received a bill from Amerigas for propane tank rental because we failed to reach their new minimum usage for rental charge waiver. We have been with them ten years during which our waiver usage was set at 250 gal per year.
Last year they apparently raised the minimum usage to 400 gal (the most you can load into a 500 gal tank). They neither informed us of the increase, nor gave us an option to reject a new agreement. Looking at their policies on line, they appear to be able to change agreements and/or raise prices whenever they choose in all states except about four. Moreover, their policies state that they are not liable for any damages caused by negligence of their employees!
It is not easy to change providers because they have a penalty for terminating service and they charge for excavation and removal of their tank.
This outrageous way they conduct business begs for someone to take on a Class Action law suit on the part of the thousands of customers being victimized by Amerigas' policies. Please someone out there, take up the cause of the "little people" being ripped off!
