Errorneous Billing | Amerigas review from Raleigh, North Carolina

I am on a monthly payment plan which is roughly $250. per month. It is due on the 20th each month. Last Friday Amerigas withdrew near $2,300 from my account and stated it was a computer error. They indicated that it would take 3 days to return the funds. Their customer service rep was extremely curt and condescending. I received no explanation as to why this hjsappened and why it will take 3 days to rectify. They were able to witrhdraw funds on the same day, why no replace. This is tantamount to fraud and all my calls to their corporate office in King of Prussia have gone unanswered. My account has pretty much been deleted and very- few dollars left to get food or pay other bills. Unfortunately I'm stuck with this company unless I want to buy the tank outright. I'd be careful on future dealings.

The reason it took at least 3 days to return the funds that they should never have taken is because their computer system requires approval from at least 2 managers to grant you the refund. I deeply sympathize with your situation.

Not many people can bear to part with over $2000 for a single day, let alone 3.

And shame on your local office for being rude and curt. Not that I'm surprised since it appears to be a corporate culture, but shame!

I received a bill in Feb. for 156.00.

Well I was late paying and know they charge 36. for late payments but in Mar. I received a bill for over 300.! WTH Going to call today or go to office.

They are ridiculous. I hate this co.

i have called now for 3weeks trying to get service and they no-show or don't return my calls. reading these other reviews makes me want to esculate this higher. just refund my money and come get this *** gas tank. which i never used, so you can quit sending me billing statements...... by the way, Campbell Oil should have never merged with Amerigas. They had superb service! i must say Lisa at Campbell Oil is one of the finest people around. Too bad she is now associated with such a horrible company. Get your propane gas service somewhere else.

Campbell oil didn't merge they were bought becasue the genlte man whom owned decided it was time to move on. Aquisitons are amerigases growth strategy they figure buy up the competitors and business practices won't matter it is sad they just aquired heritage proane third largest supply in america and there most hurtful competitor they bought them out and are putting there failed stratigies in place for heritage operations instead of realizing they should follow the more safe and customer friendly company.

Heritage was only sold becasue there parent company wanted money to but more pipelines in texas. If your company had the slogan relationships matter be afraid its now amerigas.

after being charged 3.34 per gal. and questioning the price,we were told that gas was going between $4.00-$5.00 per gal.with just a little local search we found gas @ @2.36 per gal.. after several phone calls with no response, with switch companies.a week later still no response and their tank is still sitting in our yard. today (26th) we went directly to the amerigas office for a talk.needless to say the manager," wasn't there". the same lady at the office told us that amerigas does not dicuss prices with them,however she was the one that said gas was 4-5 dollars a gallon.when we inquired about the restocking fee,and i quote "we will just call it even". AMERIGAS SUCKS. word of mouth is a powerful tool and i'll tell anyone and everyone i know to avoid amerigas

I was charged $3.91 a gallon!!! My bill was $100.00 more than 4 months ago!

When I contacted them to ask what their ppg was, they wouldn't tell me until I gave them my name. That really makes me wonder what kind of scam they're running...taking advantage of the little guy once again!

Also, I never received any notice about those extra fees they are throwing on their bills. What's that about?

AmeriGas' tank will be removed from my home!

AMERIGAS IN GARNER, NC SUCKS....I have been a customer of Amerigas for years !! I ordered gas from them on the 18th of December, left for the holidays and returned on the 30th only to find that we were almost out of gas.

I phoned them to hear the same excuse as the month before that the truck had broken down and they would not be able to get us until the the 2nd. The next morning we are totally out of gas. I phone and speak to Lori and we still can not get gas till the 2nd. Well, I pay in advance and now I have to pay again in order to receive a full tank when they do come.

She stated that they would send in for us to get it on the first. They deem our gas not primary heat because it is gas logs and we will have to pay $150 extra for emergency delivery. I hit the roof and say you are freakin kidding me and she hung up in my face. I call back and speak with Amanda and she states I am not a primary client so I have to wait and can not pay the $150 either.

Well, I AM A PRIMARY CLIENT AND THIS IS OUR PRIMARY HEAT SORCE. I call this morning to order gas and tell her I have 45% only to find out that all of the sudden they can only take payment to completely fill the tank and not what we need !!! REALLY ????????? I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BEING TREATED HORRIBLY BY A PLACE OF BUSINESS.

I PAY AS I GO..... THE DISTRICT MANAGER APPROVES THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR...

HOW SAD IS THAT? :(

I first spoke with Sandra at Amerigas in Garner, N.C. in early October regarding concerns about the increase in my bill. I informed her that if my bill was going to be this high, they could come and pick up their gas tank. I asked that she send me a copy of past bills since 2008. She agreed and said she would need to email "Corporate." Said I would receive this information in about a week. Time passed with no response. I called again and inquired as to what was going on. She said she would decrease my bill to a "win back" pricing. I agreed to this amount. Was told I would receive the updated bill in about a week. Again, time passed with no response. Called back again....she apologized and said she would take care of it. Never received an updated bill with "win back" pricing. December received new bill showing same high price; however, now with late fees. Called PA office who said I would need to speak with local office and connected me back to Sandra who once again said she would take care of the bill and remove late fees and charge me "win back" pricing only. Recieved bill with late charges removed; however, still with high fees. Called again and spoke with Sandra who once again apologized----stating "you are right and should have only been charged win back pricing". At this point, informed Sandra I was cancelling my service and they can come and pick up there tank. Sandra informed me they would come within the week and pick up the tank. Over a week passed and they did not pick up the tank. Called again and spoke with Sandra who once again "apologized" and said the tank would be picked up next week. Just received new bill today with high pricing and late charges now added on. I have been a customer for over17 years and have never experienced such poor customer service and price gouging. I feel this is illegal and will be filing a complaint with the AG's office. Though, I have not been using the gas in the tank except for my pilot light, I anticipate continuing to be charged and after looking over others complaints, also being charged for them to pick up my tank. I want this nightmare to end. I hope my comments will help others from ever using this company and if you do find yourself being priced gouged and treated unfairly, please send a complaint to the Attorney General's office.

Amerigas slow service/delivery to rural areas in Charleston, SC

My elderly parents have used Amerigas for quite some time. As of late, delivery times are becoming more sporadic, for example, if you call the customer service center to place a schedule delivery, the CSR will inform you that your request will be submitted to the local office. For your peace of mind, you MUST call your local office to make sure the CSR did indeed place your order. My mother was at 20% fuel when she placed her original order a week ago. After a follow up call, it was discovered that the original order was NEVER placed, and a new order had to be submitted. Now at 10% fuel, especially during the holiday season, when temperatures are at freezing, this spells danger to an elderly couple on an fixed income. Using small electric heaters to warm a large home built for propane heat is not an option.

my grandmother was a customer for 40yrs she wasnt going to pay 551 gallon they didnt care one bit that she was switching companies.
