I started calling for a fill on January 13th and called every day through the 17th. "Your local office is not accepting calls at this time" is the message I got continually! I emailed a complaint and asked for a response. I got a call advising supply was limited and crews were over scheduled. The price per gallon went from 2.47 in November to 5.25 in January! Two week delivery and by then we were @ 10%. I told the rep to pick up the tank. He said you'll have to call the local office (which I couldn't get through to). . . . February 6th I get a bill for $154 for EMPTY TANK RENTAL!!!!!!!! Who are these people accountable to??????
Ignored my order | Amerigas review from Columbus, Ohio
Called Jan 7 while tank was at 30% and was told they would deliver in 7 days. On Jan 20 called again and the gentleman I spoke wanted to know who I had placed order with. My response was Marcus it was you. He said the ordered had not be placed but he would do so (should I believe him this time). NO order not placed. Kept calling but no one answers phone. Emailed no response. Called emergency line (Jan 26) as we are now at 8%. Told they would deliver next day Jan 27. Saw no truck in my drivewy today. Now -3 out, low on propane and my husband is sick with stage 4 brain tumor. Not easy to just pick up and go. Called emergency line again, no answer, waited on line for an hour. We have been with them for 20 years - NO MORE

The most ridiculous thing I've ever heard from a large corporation! Especially a service provider. I have received this message for three days now. Called the Emergency line and was on hold for THIRTY minutes - I had to hang up. I did leave my number but havn't heard from anyone. No one in this area is accepting new customers due to the shortage - what are we supposed to do in these temps? I would feel differently if there was a front end message explaining the situation; but to hear: Your Local Office is Unable to Accept Calls????????? I can't wait for them to remove their tank from my yard. DONE with Amerigas and their high prices!
Don't trust Amerigas Propane Machines
I used my credit card trying to get a Full Propane tank for the weekend. I received an error and did not receive a receipt either. Once I got home immediately checked my checking acct.. A debt had been received to take my money out of my acct. but no credit was there. I called the toll-free number. Just what I thought, the female I spoke with said she didn't know when I would receive my refund. They can sit on my money for the weekend or even longer. But yet I can't BBQ because they have my money.

Starting calling in September 2012 to let Amerigas know my father in law had passed away and we needed service changed to our names as we were moving into the house. It took until Dec. 2012 to have the change done, even after sending them a death certificate and all of our info. In December 13, 2012 we requested our tanks to be filled, it took until Jan. 5,2013 for this to happen. Of course we ran out of gas. I called everyday, e-mailed everyday and also called the national number. Never recieved any phone calls or e-mails. When they finally came out the driver told me to make sure I checked my bill because it would probably not be right! I have had two bills and neither have been right. 191.00 mistake on the first one and 147.00 on the second. Two weeks ago I was told it would be taken care of and a credit statement sent to me but that has not happened. At this point in time we are considering putting in electic heat so we will not have to deal with this every month or so. A word to the wise, DO NOT GET PROPANE FROM AMERIGAS!!
Amerigas Gas Tank
I just contacted their "emergency" line. No help, Several months ago I received a tank Rental bill. I called customer service and was told that if I had the tank filled, the rental fee would be waved. It took over a month for the propane to be delivered. I received an invoice for propane AND rental. I paid the propane portion. I received threee subsequent invoices for the rental. I responded to each in writing. Never received a response. This morning I went out to light the heater for a Karate class and found a service order under the tank lid that tank is locked out. I will contact PUCO to file official complaint. This is also our emergency heat and we are in a snow and ice storm now. No note on the door. Just a service order under tank lid. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Gutless swine! Bait and switch. Dishonest. They claimed there is no way to contact the local office or a service person after 5 on Friday until 9 on Monday.

I contracted with Amerigas for their service. After being charged higher fuel charges than when I contracted for a fixed cost which was never met. I started looking for a provider that didn't have all the extra cost. Now they changed their contract which they require a $100 charge for termination of service! They keep charging for every little thing! If there is more than 5% in the tank they charge $120, which they also resell to customers. How better to gouge the customer! By the time you read this post they will have increased their charges even more!
Stealing my hard earned money | Amerigas review from Columbus, Ohio
I have been an AmeriGas customer for 5 years. I live in a mobile home and have all electric heat. I have a centrally located propane heater in my mobile home installed by the previous owner to offset the electric bill. The second year of using this heater I had a 200.00 dollar gas bill in one month. I stopped using the propane and shut the valve off. Well I continue to receive bills from AmeriGas. When I call and give them the meter reading which is 3704. The bill says beginning reading 3705. Ending reading 3709. I am now being charged late fees on propane that I have not used. This matter will go to the attorney general. I am tired of dealing with this company.
My Amerigas cost per gallon has gone from 2.98 to 4.39 in three months. I just checked the price per gallon at Landmark and found it to be 2.04, less than half what Amerigas is charging. Needles to say, I am switching companies immediately. I have falsely assumed that...
